I am a sucker for a bitsy bug, lol! They are such a great bait to use when those fish are pressured or the fish are just being lethargic in general. I've spent entire days just experimenting with different ways to fish them. For me, it's just fun!

big fan of finesse jigs, my hook up ratio seems to be better that the full size jigs, although I gotta be quicker on the hook set they do seem to really inhale them. Thank You for the informative content i'm new to bass fishing and have used what I have learned here and my bite has definitely increased.

I never throw a jig, God i want to but my patience is short. Im dedicating a combo now for a beastcoast lil magnum jig, and maybe a sleeper trailer like the poor boy erie darter to switch things up .

Many years ago when I really wanted to get the jig fishing down, I forced myself to fish only a jig for an entire season. I know, absolutely crazy. Lol. But that's what I did. Thanks Steve. Just found 3/16oz jigs. Rigged it with a Robo Ned rig. Caught 2 and missed one the first 15mins. fishing it. Didn't get a bite the next 1/2 hour though but was proud of my idea anyway. Green pumpkin skirt and green pumpkin/orange Ned. All 3 hit on the fall.

Any time that water temp is dipping below 49-50 is kind of the rough rule of thumb I go by.

at what point do you make the switch from finesse jig to a smaller finesse texas rig with the same type of smaller craw plastic ?

Really great question. For me personally, I like the jig around wood more and fishing docks. If I am doing more bottom dragging I am probably 50/50 between the jig and Texas rig, but they are very interchangeable. I would use whatever one you have more confidence in.
