Hey hey InsomniaSG, lovely to see you again! That's the best strategy for depression, and I use it too :) It's tough out there and can be even tougher on the inside. It reminds me of this quote from the book, The Once and Future King by T.H. White: ""The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”" Thanks again for being a part of the Hack Music Theory community, InsomniaSG, and until next time, take care and learn lots :) Kate

I like to mess around with bass notes & see if I come up with something cool. In my current song, I was dragging a bass note all over the place & discovered an A chord sounds so neat with an F# bass. It doesn't linger too long, as my bass notes are kinda mobile in this song... plus the chords don't sustain very long. In my chorus, most of the measures have 4 chords. My advice is to experiment with bass notes & you'll soon discover more hidden gems, like my A/F#. :)

Hi Daniel, and a warm welcome to the Hack Music Theory community! What kind of music do you make? To answer your question. Yes, all the instruments/voices in your section (eg. chorus) should be in the same mode/scale. However, different sections of your song can (and should) be in different modes/scales, otherwise your song will get boring. Here's a video we did on this topic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqeVd5qZoMR5a6s Take care, and we hope to see you again soon for more theory hacks :)

I'm having trouble understanding what it means to be in the key of something, say the key of c. It has to start in C and end in C? What is "it"? How come can start a note on A and still be in C? What does this actually mean? This feels overwhelming I just would like to produce music similar to Hucci 😭😭😭
