I don't know if it's just me but I am in love with Cathy's voice, it's so cool and collected but somehow relaxing? lol Even just her whole vibe is so mellow, I can watch her all day haha. She would probably make a good friend, she seems so real =]

"Celebrate the effort, not the result", such a great line, too often we get wrapped up in wanting to get somewhere but more vital is just trying and giving new things a go rather than ending up sitting on the couch!

Perfect timing! Just failed a licensing exam for my job. What did I do to overcome it? Took a 5 day break than started studying again to fill in the gaps of my knowledge. Thanks for having on Cathy. She helped strengthen my confidence.

I feel worried now. I’m afraid I may have done badly. I want to take things positively, but I get hung up on my mistakes and what others think of me. I want to be humble and reflective, and not beat myself up all the time. When people give me negative feedback, I want to take it positively as a learning point, instead of going on a downward spiral

This is absolutely my favorite MarieTV episode thus far. I've been watching your videos for awhile and they have really helped me to feel unstoppable and ready to take on the world. I stepped out and applied for a promotion in my career and didn't get the job. Needless to say I was disappointed and all of these thoughts of inadequacy raced through my head, but watching this video was just the medicine I needed to pick myself up, dust off my shoes, and keep on putting myself out there. Thanks for everything.

Great interview! I think that once you realize as a entrepreneur that failure (setbacks) are part of the process (path), it becomes a bit easier to deal with them. It is all about learning from the experience, without allowing it to be an excuse on why you can't continue.

What you said is so true! I've always been terrified to take any risks with my business, but I've learned from other successful people that they've made so many mistakes and that's all just been part of the process towards success. I'm learning how to accept my failures and appreciate the opportunity to learn from them.

Definitely love these discussions with Dr. Collautt, she does a great job of condensing the wisdom of a therapist and she isn't just selling a book or something (though I would totally buy her book) And Marie does a great job of facilitating the whole learning exercise. I would love to see more interviews with her or other Doctors.

This is the first video I saw from MarieTV and immediately watched 3 more, then had to come back and comment on how good this advice is. Great interview, really respect the style/format of the show. I don't know if this channel is mostly female-oriented, but as a male I found it to be gender neutral and appreciate the ability to create this type of content so approachable - well done.

Tips that help me: 1) failure is part of the process. You don't learn throughout your success, you learn throughout your failures, as long as you analyze them instead of judging yourself. 2) don't seek people approbation always. Be critical with critics. Listen to only constructive and explicit feedback. The rest of it are interferences. 3) you cannot please everybody and haters will hate. So don't consider their comments as failure. Now I will add these two additional tips from the interview: 4) make failure overcome an obligation. 5) celebrate your effort, more than the result. Thanks for the video.

I'm doing a job I don't like. It needs so much boaring details to be fixed and I definitely ever miss at least one that will rubbed in on me and yes I say to me how incapable I am, but with your video I learn not to make a drama out of this, maybe I'm only incapable of this little issue or maybe nobody can do everything perfect..

Omg this is The video for me. I almost wish I would have seen it sooner. Everything you talked about failure I've thought and experienced. I was in a PhD program and ended up graduating with a masters of science instead. It was a devastating failure that I'm still trying to cope with and make amends everyday. I definitely turned it into a global failure. I was stunned also at the responses I would get from the department advisors and chair. So far the only way I can deal with this is either by not thinking about it or thinking about how unsupported I was by my committee. I really believe there were issues surrounding sexism and racism towards me. All that aside, being subcontracted by a friend of mine on a project that is related to the courses I've taken but not directly having to do with my thesis topic, has helped me feel capable of working.
