Oh Man! I can't believe how organized you are. One major reason why you are successful is this very trait. You are goal oriented (even before you start) and then Organize everything to achieve those goals. That's how you breakdown every task into small chunks. Thanks for the video!

I just finished my 5th year Chemical Engineering with a 4.0/4.0 GPA, and was able to achieve this while working out and doing things I enjoy. The effort-time trap cannot be more true and I’ve experienced this throughout my years of study. Now I purposefully schedule going to the gym, which in fact HELPED my grades in the long run!

Kevin this is a really helpful video! But I feel like a lot of college-related videos are geared towards traditional students who go to school and may or may not have a part-time job and essentially have more time to do everything mentioned in this video step by step. In the future, if possible, can you offer more tips for students who are "nontraditional" who may need more than 30 mins of downtime after working and going to school or those of us who would LOVE to join organizations but can't seem to find the time in our day to day schedules. I know you mentioned a few tips I could use when planning my schedule but some of these things just don't seem feasible for nontraditional students like myself.

This is helpful although I would have to tweak the schedule a little bit. I can't afford to take the weekends as break from studying, because I'm a nontraditional student who works full-time and go to school Mon-Thursday nights until 8-10pm at times and Saturday from 8am-2pm. For example, it is Organic Chem II w/lab, Microbiology w/lab, and Anatomy & Physiology w/lab, so even if that only adds up to 12 credits, that takes a lot of my time alone and people who know what labs are like, is like taking a class on its own, even if we only get 1 credit. My commute is far depending on what day it is and when I get home, I definitely need that 30 min break but that means taking care of my dog, eating dinner, taking a shower, cleaning up, and sometimes that ends by 11pm which I'm already exhausted at that point to be able to sit down to study/do hw. I am definitely still trying to find more effective ways in how I can manage, but most times, I just roll with it. I do have a calendar which I set my major appointments, but unfortunately, do not schedule my time hour by hour. I do want to start off the semester the right way so any advice definitely helps! Thank you for sharing all these videos!

Toronto Aviation i had the same idea coming into my first semester ever. It was tough getting back into weightlifting during my second semester, but i still managed to get my grades on point. During last fall, i scheduled my workouts after my classes (all morning) and have a small meal right before and sometimes carry my pre workout with me. Working out really served as a buffer in my day between work and school and brought a peace of mind to me. I plan on doing the same for this spring, but more efficiently!

Thank you for your video. I have some questions for you and I would be grateful for your replies. Since you said you schedule your class time first in the calendar, your school are likely to have a rather stable and fixed schedule for at least a quarter of a year before the semester start, right? Could you give me some advice about how to deal with class schedules that can change any time, like just a day before or even right before the class begins? And does your school have classes on both morning and afternoon every weekday or just half of a day? I sometimes have all-day classes for the entire week ( may include Saturday or even Sunday if the lecturer cannot find any other day that available) which drains me for the following week. Thank you again.

My days are very random and most days I don't really know what it is I'll be doing apart from schooling and classes, since distractions come often and I will be forced to run an errand and lose lots of time. It also helps keep me on my toes on my assignments as long as I've entered them all into it from the syllabus from day 1. It changed my life last semester and I'm so excited to use it again! They also have a book which is just a longer and more in-depth look at a lot of these ideas, so it was nice getting a refresher from this video.

I would say yes, mainly because is one of those things that change your perspective of everyday life. You'll notice things differently, you'll see the lights and the colors, and that can help you to not get burnt out and to stay passionate and creative. I took a couple of cinema classes and I swear to god that I fell completely in love and they helped me get through a really tough semester, even though movies don't have anything to do with my major.
