I have a 2007 phazer fx , I bought it brand new in 07. Last year I did the only repair to date, I replaced the battery. I rode this sled on the snowcross track and ditch banged the hell out of it for 13 years, nothing breaks on it. I cant ask for a tougher sled. Not to mention the first scheduled valve adjustment for the engine is at 40 000 km, Now YAMAHA offers a 20 year engine warranty, my 2019 Polaris assault 800 will be in a scrap pile long before the phazer needs a engine rebuild.

2016 RT-X: Great ditch banger! Like the motocross of snowmobiles. I also rode lakes and tight trails in northern MN. Nobody could keep up with me on the trails (they have all 800+ sleds) and I hung in there on the lakes (but they commented on how well I did keep up). If you don't have to be a hero on straights, but love the challenge of a trail ride or ditch bangin'; this sled can't be beaten.

Man! So jelly you're still riding! Been 50s and 60s here. Snow is all gone. Maybe we will get a freak storm like we did a few years back. Dumped 16 inches on us end of March but I dont have my hopes up.

The phazer was one of my first full size sleds growing up when they were reintroduced. Super fun sled but even as a young teen i felt it was underpowered. All in all it was a great sled to get better at riding on a full size sled.

Had an 08, phazer gt, great little sled, but a little underpowered in deeper snow, but trail and hard pack riding it was awesome, great on fuel and good suspension. Sold it with 11000kms and had no issues at all.

We have a 2008 Phazer. Love it. Trail riding is fantastic. Dual carbides is a must in my opinion.

I had a 2009 Phazer Rtx and sold it for a 2013 RTX. I wish I never did the switch. Such a fun ride, especially with that dirt bike seat to juke around on. The dual carbide was needed to avoid the major ski lift issues, which were kind of fun at times but left you with really slow cornering

Pick up a New 2009 Z1 Turbo last 2 years only have about 545 Miles on it now did the oil change and I fouled the plugs because I didn’t let it warm up enough.’ It’s going to a mechanic this weekend. I want to ride next week.

On a twisty trail, that sled will keep up with anything on the snow. Had a guy month or so back just stuck to my rear on the twisties and I only would put distance on him in the straights and I'm riding 850 XRS to his 500 4 stroker

I've only putted around on one at the dealership that I work at, but it seems to be a great sled. After all, it has the Yamaha reliability, which when they break, they're all junk.

Just got the Phazer mtx for wife. I ride primarily in the mtns of MT off trail. It has a hard time climbing moderately steep slopes whereas my pro rmk 800 rips right up them. I’m always overheating on the trail though. Not that she really wants to climb that steep anyway. Seems like a good one for her so far. Got around on some gnarly drifted roads. Of course she was in my track.

It’s a non-traditional take on the snowmobile. That’s why first time users coming from other sleds say it’s “ weird”. The phaser is kind of like a dirt bike for winter. It’s got great ergonomics for horsing around. It’s powered to have fun without committing suicide. All your friends will outrun you in the straights( 80 mph top )....but.....they will also spend twice as much on gas and oil as you.
