More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Americans find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire.
@StocksWolf7522 ай бұрын
Rising prices have affected my intention of retiring at 62, working part-time, and building my savings. I'm worried about whether individuals who weathered the 2008 financial crisis found it less challenging than my current situation. The stock market's volatility, coupled with a reduced income, is making me anxious about having enough for retirement.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

If nothing else, max out your ROTH IIRA contributions every year starting now. If you are worried about the market, then just leave it in your main account which is usually a money market or savings account. Different providers have different options. The down side to ROTH's is that you have a maximum limit you can put in each year and you can't make that up so every year you miss the 5500 you fail. of all my investments, not starting the ROTH sooner has been my biggest regret.

B Faulkner I’m investing through Charles Schwab! I googled about different IRA companies /custodian and heard Charles Schwab is good for beginners. They have a lot of articles you can read to learn more about types of investments, what to invest in, and give percentages on what to invest in depending on age, retirement, savings goals and things like that. A good IRA portfolio will have diverse investments of different mutual funds, stocks, etc. I also search on KZbin for videos like “best mutual funds on Charles Schwab” “safest stocks to invest in” etc. most IRA custodians will have the option to work with a financial advisor to help guide you but that’s another expense and sometimes requires a minimum balance so I just decided to do it myself, research, and start with small amounts of money at a time. My money has been growing!

A Roth IRA is an empty house. I can put an investment, such as an index fund for example, in the Roth IRA. But why would I do that, if the Roth IRA doesn't grow the money itself? It's the index fund investment that grows interest. So I don't understand the point of the IRA. After all, the index fund can exist independently. Can someone explain?
@MB-vi6wm5 жыл бұрын
no taxes with the ira account mainly. but you are right about all that stuff. It's just different mindsets i guess cause people will use ira's for long term use like retirement so I think for most people, they rather have a steady increase with no worries of taxes. But I do agress that it is totally fine to do this outside of an ira account as long as you see a positive return that would outweigh that of the ira account. And of course you will be taxed as well on the income if it is outside of an ira account.
@pku2death6 жыл бұрын
I get confused because one person is saying one thing and someone is saying something else, but can you please clarify this question. When you say that the money is already taxed when you put it in which of the following is correct:1) Lets say you put $5,000 of already taxed income into the IRA, is it then taxed again at your marginal rate? so if you were at 25% tax bracket would $1250 be taken away making your IRA account have a balance of $3,750 OR 2)The $5,000 that was already taxed is just put into the account, and at 59.5 everything is tax free as long as it has been in there for at least 5 years, so balance would be $5,000 contributed instead of $3,750.Thank you
@Jazzwealth6 жыл бұрын
Think of it like this.. You get a paycheck from your employer and the taxes are already taken out. Then you put some of that money into a Roth IRA. The money you put in has already been taxed so it is never taxed again. Does that make sense? Thanks for watching!
@pku2death6 жыл бұрын
Yeah 100%. So pretty much, traditional gets a deduction up to 5500 on schedule A as an itemized deduction whereas ROTH doesn't get that, but all income earned in the ROTH account is never taxed. As someone who doesn't make enough money to itemize to take advantage of the deduction, I should always go with the ROTH IRA, correct? Thank you.

When you say $5500 is that a year or over the entire course of the account?
@VadidElab6 жыл бұрын
My Roth IRA seems to be growing at 8% as far as I know that's about as much as I can expect outside of being an exception... Is that correct?
@Jazzwealth6 жыл бұрын
Oh nice! Depending on your age and goals that could be just fine. Thanks for watching!
@KnockoutInvesting5 жыл бұрын
Consider annual inflation. The true growth is less than 8%.

Is taking money from my regular savings consider pretax money or do they take additional taxes out when I open a Roth IRA?

For someone who isn’t about to start until their mid-40s is there a way to catch up on previous years? For the caps
@Jazzwealth5 жыл бұрын
For 2018 yes. For previous years no :(

I need to talk to a person I still don’t understand I’m 31 make $160k a year and I just want to start something that makes me money I already have 401k through employer I just want something else who should I see?
@NateT0925 жыл бұрын
Ur mentality yearly should be: 1. Match up 401k employer match yearly (wether that be 2%, 4% etc) 2. Open a roth ira if dont have one (fidelity/vangaurd/M1) , this is money that will be grown tax free and be able take out at 59 1/2. If wanna keep it simple just do a 90 index fund of total market and 10% total or us bond. Max the out 6K limit. 3. Proceed to Max out 19K limit of 401K. 4. Open regular brokage account, and buy etfs stocks etc to ur choice. It will be tax on yearly (dividends/growth) but can be something you want to live on and have no tax pentaly consequences. (If retiring early is in your goal) 5. Have roughly 2 year living expenses savings account that can live on, if stocks crash badly any time in Future. (Vivo bank /weathfront good choices). Also can hit up on HSA account as well. You sure make alot and that's best way to handle money long term imo.

Wait… do you really only have 4 fingers… cause this video edit is pretty good and is lasting pretty long… I’ve been replaying this to find the glitch to show this is photoshop but I can’t 🧐🧐

Ha! That would be an intense edit and a long lasting "joke" at that. Yes, only 4 fingers on the one hand :)

How young can you open an IRA roth account?. I want to open one now for my 13 year old daughter.
@alrocky5 жыл бұрын
Your 13 year old needs earned income (a job) in order to qualify for an IRA account.

You can always open a custodial/trust account for her

I wouldn’t want my investments to drop when I’m young OR when I’m old, I never want to lose money. Fixed index annuities offer you to make gains and you never lose any money

Vanguard Index funds are awesome for beginners with their very low cost structure. You can start from there and gradually climb up 1-step a time.

Hey man thanks for the info. Does the traditional IRA stay tax free on REITs on dividends/earnings? I know Roth does , but can't find a clear answer on T-IRA?
@alrocky5 жыл бұрын
Dividends / earnings are tax deferred in a traditional IRA, not tax free.
