I love the depression plate when it was finished though I probably would use a cheaper plate those are expensive lol. And I loved everything 💕

Well the good news is I discovered it was depression glass after this video 😂😂 AND because I painted it with acrylic paint I can easily wash it off in hot water, but oh my goodness those were ugly. I still like it better painted and mine is only worth $9, thank goodness! Thanks for watching!🥰😘

Hi. Loving your videos. You asked for some ideas on ways to keep your markers, especially the fine point ones from drying out while writing on chalk paint. You should checkout Marta @ Maremi SmallArt. She's a multimedia artist on KZbin and She uses clear gesso and white gesso on her artwork and then uses all types of paints and stains and markers and others over her layers. Thank you so much for your inspirational videos. I'm a new subscriber.

Terry Thomas I spent a lot of time looking for depression glass back in the 80’s and 90’s. I really enjoy having it but I’ve found pieces at the thrift store recently for $2-3. It’s not as collectible today as it was 25 yrs ago.

My favorite videos are trash to treasure. I have so much stuff stored in my grandmothers home, it is a crafter's dream. I am like you with the shopping when the thrift stores are half off. The Goodwills where I live are so expensive. It is ridiculous. However, there are very few thrift shops here.

Lol, I know I learned about that later so I pinned a comment at the top of this thread. I did not seal it with anything so I can wash the paint right off because it was just acrylic paint. I looked the plate up online after someone told me, and it’s only worth $7, and when I get bored I will wash it off. No harm done.

I'm glad you spoke about paint pains not working anymore after using them on chalk paint this happened to me using a white paint pen on black spray paint....well it turned my tip grey so it now paints grey if it works! I was gutted as it was the first time using it! Grr but I will try scrubbing it up to see if it works before tossing into the bin! Anyway love love love little piggy and everything you crafted as usual is amazing! Your amazing! Much love my friend God bless you xoxo

Scrub the pen very gently and also try soaking it in rubbing alcohol because that is a solvent. It’s very hard to find right now so failing that try vinegar. Leave it for about 30 minutes and then shake it up and try it again. I got a great tip from another viewer who told me to use mod podge or a poly acrylic clear spray on my craft after I am done. She said you can write on those without ruining your thin fine pens! I haven’t tried it yet and I hope it works! Thank you for the sweet comment! Much love to you! 😘❤️🥰🥰🥰❤️

Told you I was working my way through your older shows. They are addicting. I imagine you have already had an answer to your question about paint marker tips, but in case you are still experiencing the problem -- You can turn the tips on most paint pens around and they are the same on both ends. If you do that it should work again for awhile. When it stops, just turn it around again. Warning - it's messy. The other thing is to take the tip out and clean it if it is really bad and flipping it won't work. Soak the whole tip in a small covered cup or jar of alcohol or acetone for a few minutes then shake the cup. Should clean it right up nicely. Also, when my paint pens run out of ink I keep the tips - clean them up with alcohol and store them in a jar. That way I always have a clean one if one plugs up really bad mid project. Ooh, I just thought, there are some I haven't been able to fix. I wonder if goo gone would work on them? You'd have to follow it with alcohol to get rid of the oil though. I might give that a go next time. Good luck and thanks so much for sharing all this. I broke my arm so I can't craft right now so I'm stocking up on ideas for when I can use it again. You're the best!

Once you clean that tip on the marker, you should be able to remove the nib. Clean with alcohol put it back together and you should b able to get it to write again with a tiny bit of effort. If your pens go dry (as in no more ink), remove the nib, add alcohol to the pen and voila! you should be able to get more use out of the pen. I do this with good success! Hope this helps.
@HotHumblePie4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Linda! That is a great tip and I will try that! Strangely enough the marker started working again after I left it alone. I guess the ink soaked back into the tip or through whatever was plugging it? But that is a great tip! Tfs! 😘🥰❤️

Oh yeah! As far as the rust look you do wonderfully with the painted faux look. Just an FYI, you can make the metal rust overnight by submerging in vinegar. Or applying vinegar soaked cloth all over the item you are working on or just on the few places you want rusty. I haven’t tried this option but you may want to try would painting straight vinegar where you want the rust. Then maybe cover the area with plastic wrap so the metal can oxidize. The last is just a guess but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.An after thought, soak vinegar onto a cloth. If you decide to try these update me on how it turns out please. By the way love your channel!

Hi Alice! Thank you so much for leaving such a detail sweet and caring message! I did know about the vinegar/salt/hydrogen peroxide trick but you can’t control the rust look as much as paint. I did paint it was just acrylic paint so I can always wash it off with soap and water and try the vinegar trick. Funny you should mention it because I was just thinking about changing the look on this already, lol. Thank you for watching! Hope you have a beautiful week my friend. ❤️🥰😘😘🌸🌸😁
