4 times Berghaus Dragon's Back Race completer Joe Faulkner shares his advice for a successful race

Who could be better to have on Wild Ginger Running Trail Chat the week before the infamous Dragon's Back Race than Joe Faulkner who has completed the race as many times as it has been run! He is going back to Wales for his 5th attempt next week!
Joe did the first ever race back in 1992, then came back for the reunion in 2012, he couldn't resist a hat-trick in 2015 and he was on a roll by 2017! He has remained strong and a force to be reckoned with throughout all of them, and despite laughing in my face when I asked him what training he did last time we spoke (lol! He's old school), I have persuaded him that he can give all of us some fantastic long distance running and mountain skills tips this Wednesday evening in the live chat!

Good luck to Joe! He was guiding me and several others for Lakes in the Day's recce, he just completed the Joss Naylor Challenge then. And when I had to retire due to injury during the race, Joe came and pick me up. Very inspiring and awesome guy, wishing the best for him. P.S. It's quite frustrating that I can only see interview replays now due to UK-Malaysia time difference.

Thanks Claire, great interview. I've just signed up to do the two day recce of the Montane Cheviot Goat with Joe in November. Hoping to end next year by running it if my plans go well between then and now. Some great advice here and nice to hear him in the flesh so to speak. Cheers 👍
