That inside out forehand on break point, second serve and 2 sets down against haas is arguably the most important shot in Rogers career! He’s sorely missed on tour, the golden era of tennis.

Isner talked about this match on his podcast. For the third match point, he knew Roger would predict that he was going out-wide but did it anyway and couldn't believe the return and passing shot he came up with. Said when he saw Roger's massive celebration after winning the set, he knew he was cooked for the match.

I read somewhere that when it comes to saving MP, Fed's record is superior to Djokovic's, it's his MP conversion that held him back...

Federer has lost more than DOUBLE the number matches after being match points up than Novak & Rafa did, COMBINED. BUT, he also won the most matches after being MPs down. Weird fucking stat.

@@rishirahul6410 It comes with his high-risk high-reward game style. I believe it's 24 apiece? Including twice where he's saved SEVEN match points and won.

Plenty of matches to show Federer's comeback from the dead instead of the last one (Federer vs Isner at Laver Cup), where he won from 2 sets down: Wimbledon 2010 R1 against Alejandro Falla, Wimbledon 2012 3R against Julien Benneteau, Roland Garros 2012 QF against Del Potro, Australian Open 2009 4R against Tomas Berdych, etc. Laver Cup isn't even ATP-affiliated.

Laver Cup??? This is an exhibition tournament... Shanghai 2014 (Leo Mayer), finals 2014 (wawrinka), Miami 2017 (berdych) were so much more important Without saving match points I remember Benneteau in wimbledon 2012 and Rubens Hidalgo and tsonga, both in monte carlo

No doubt Roger is greatest when it comes to skills, elegance, demeanor, etc....but when it comes to mental toughness i would still say Djokovic and Nadal are better And the only reason Federer sometimes choked against Noval and Rafa is because it is more difficult to defend your title, rankings, fame, etc. than to defeat current world best player.....defending something makes human a little nervous Hence, we see these days (the real weal era) Djokovic gets defeated by new players who have nothing to lose but Novak has a lot to defend

What is Federer yelling against Cilic at 1:50 and 1:56? Is it "come on!" in Swiss German?

@@LexAnarchythat's awesome. I've heard him yell "come on!" in English and "Allez!" in French and now this saying in Swiss German. When you're multi-lingual, i wonder how you decide what to say in what language when you impulsively yell out in a pressure situation like that.
