Pro tip if you're parking it in a spot, and you know you'll be there for some months, I've learned that with my 1965 Frolic 17ft canned ham, I put 4 jack stands under the tongue and two under the back half of the frame, and I have an antique sears and roebuck 10 ton bottle jack it's way overkill but i lift my trailer to take some of the weight off the wheels which redu es side to side movement. I learned real quick that high wind days the trailer would still shake, so I took 4 full length T posts and drove all but 6 inches of the posts into the ground at a 45° angle on each corner just under the edge of the trailer, I then take 4 ratchet straps, and crank the trailer down a couple clicks to get the straps tight and they keep the trailer from moving period. Nice Lil trailer bro. My frolic has a dinette/bed my wife and I have the master bed in the rear of the trailer and the two little kids get to sleep on the double canvas bunks up above us. I plan to remove the skin and replace some of the wood framing in it from were it's gotten some water damage before I bought it. My wife and I lived in it for a year while we searched for a new home. I love that old trailer, my wife not so much for full time living lol

I know this was a year ago but I love your sense of humor about your surgery. I know you feel like everything is different and it's unfamiliar to you but you look and sound great. Thank you for keeping up with the videos during this difficult time for you. Surgery is no fun, i don't care who you are. 😂

@@Mullenthemaker I wish you all the best with it. I've had spinal problems all my life and have had multiple surgeries. Now I'm 59 and in heart failure. I've been on life support twice in the past year and a half and neither time was expected to live. You've got this. I hope it'll be a breeze for you, though I can only imagine it's quite difficult. I do want to thank you for these videos. I've recently bought a piece of shit camper, 😂, and have begun renovating it. I'll take all the free instruction I can get. 😂 You're a wonderful teacher. So, thank you. Very much.

Couple of things to consider from a safety standpoint - make sure your tires are new and good quality - no Chinese junk - either light truck or Maxxis which are specifically for trailers. Also, just as important - since your trailer is a 70s model - replace the spring shackles with new/heavier ones and "wet bolts". Not expensive, but a broken shackle will ruin your trip.

All good tips. We had a tire shred on another trailer a month ago. It stunk.

Idk about light truck tires, I didn't see exactly how big his rig was. I have a 1965 Frolic 17ft vintage trailer and mine had light truck tires on it when I bought it. They were rated for 70 psi but looked low when I was towing it home. Hopped out and checked the psi they were at 115psi 😳 I went that weekend and picked up some 8 ply ST special trailer tires and they are tough tires, the sidewalls keep them from being weighed down and spreading out so far under the trailers weight. I am gonna have to do the spring job on mine as well here soon, as well as pull the wheels and remove and repack the bearings in the axel.

Here is the link. I like them a lot. I bolted these to the frame. It came with some metal tapping screws. Worked well and easy to install. www.amazon.com/BAL-23225-Set-Jacks-Handle/dp/B002P2YTIA/ref=asc_df_B002P2YTIA/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312192374842&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16416521035163599749&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9029805&hvtargid=pla-450222082730&psc=1
