The choice of the pek kio hawker stall was a total failure to represent the hawker category. I strongly avoid that stall even though I stay less than 5 min walk from it. There are a ton of good hokkien mee hawker stalls, yet the producer selected this. 🤦🏻♂️

I 2nd this. I dont even stay nearby but i happen to be there last week, coincidentally hubby was watching this recommendation and immediately I recognize this stall! I will never return becos i wasted $5 ordering from them. This is the only plate of HKM that I refuse to eat. Period. Can tell from Gen Lee's expression she doesnt like too.

The PK fried hokkien mee a lot hype but really dsiappointed. Basic fried hokkien mee must have prawn, sotong, white pork belly slice, lot of pork lark and dry type. Cheap option i would go to Original Simon Road Hokkien Mee, Hainam Fried Hokkien Mee@Golden Mile market or even Kim ( but founder passed on recently and standard dropped a lot). Not try Zhup Zhup yet but look good and will definitely go. 👍recommendation. Next should may be mee robus, bak chor mee, prataand laksa.

You are probably referring to the Hong Kong version of wanton mee. In Singapore and Malaysia, the local version comes with char siew.
