I believe the Director has already stated that the entity is able to get to you anywhere (space, deepest trench under the ocean inside a submarine and impenetrable rooms etc). Its also suggested that the entity is able to level the playing field should the target try to impede it in anyway, eg trap or kill it. So if you could trap it inside a coffin made out of the toughest manmade material, it would either destroy the coffin or simply pass through it. Which suggests that it acts how a human would act when walking, like using bricks to break into houses or will use its power to escape traps or whatnot.

For as much as we know about it, it could get on a plane and follow you, and when you shoot it and try to bury it in cement, it becomes the Rock on steroids and breaks out.

Few issues, that I know others have said, but still. 1. It most definitely has superhuman strength; maybe not enough to bust through or out of solid concrete, but it could probably bend prison bars to escape. It’s shown tossing people around like ragdolls and twisting someone into a pretzel (I think) so it could definitely bust down a wooden door if it had to. 2. As you said, the demon does have rudimentary intelligence, and from what we’ve seen I think that intelligence can somewhat scale to the complexity that it would take to reach their target. I wouldn’t take it as totally out of the question for it to wander onto a cargo ship in order to reach your destination quicker. What I would do in that situation if I chose the whole overseas route is to definitely stay vigilant for the first and last few months. If it manages to reach you sooner than should be possible by a human at a walking pace, then you’d definitely be able to figure out that it has some more tricks up it’s sleeve that it probably only utilizes when it absolutely has to.

A floating head should be enough to persuade them that you'd on to something. The police would probably try to investigate the floating head and would be supernaturally killed. I don't think the monster's abilities are as concrete as you're making it to be. For example, considering the protagonists constantly drive a car to go around, and the monster seems to always be just not that far behind them despite only being on foot, it might be the case that the monster can teleport when it's not being directly observed. So, going to another continent might be useless. And the monster seems to only attack when its victim is conscious, not while asleep. Maybe the monster also wants to "marinate its victims in fear," Pennywise-style.

I never really liked the final strategy they decided on in the film - i.e. sleeping with a prostitute to pass the curse on as far as possible. With this method you would still have to live in constant fear that every knock on your door could mean death. You have no way of knowing for sure that the monster hasn't got back to you - maybe that prostitute took a holiday shortly after sleeping with you, or for some other reason the curse didn't get very far. I would prefer a more permanent solution personally, one where you can be sure that it will *NEVER* come back to you. However, we don't really know what this thing's limitations are. For example, could you keep it suspended in acid like SCP-682 rendering it immobile as it's muscles are constantly dissolved by the acid? Can it dig, swim, climb, even fly? Can it break through walls, doors, metal? If it only had the strength of a human, and no special abilities we don't know about, it would actually be fairly easy to contain. Like someone else said, a metal box buried in the desert - job done. Or just to be sure, throw the box down the Mariana Trench - unless it's got some super powers like SCP-096 in which case it will never stop coming and you're screwed no matter what. We also don't know what happens when everyone it's ever pursued is dead. Does it just pick a new person at random, or does it disguise itself so that someone has sex with it? If it pursued your parent(s), will it pursue you if they died of natural causes before it could reach them?

Trapping it like the jail cell may not work. It constantly changes shape and size. Becoming a big giant man to break down doors, becoming a small scrawny kid to squeeze through small holes. We don't see many of its forms and whos to say it doesn't have something that could squeeze through jail bars. It also begs the question on if the paint would stay on it when it changes form.

@carlosquinones75602 жыл бұрын
you forgot one detail: At the beginning of the movie it has demonstrated the ability to teleport. So locking it up and travelling will not help. There's also the fact that it can turn into someone else, bypassing infiltration and presumably removing the paint. You're gonna have to go to UCF...or sleep with my ex-roommate, whichever comes first.

It is not as strong as a human. It appears to be much stronger, able to easily break even the thickest bones in a human body. It also clearly seems to have the capacity to avoid obstacles, climb, crawl, and generally do what is necessary to ensure its pursuit of its victim is never obstructed for very long. I'm not sure trapping it is a realistic option. And as for getting the police to believe in an invisible monster by painting it, I think they're far more likely to think you're performing some sort of street magic for KZbin and ignore it until it's too late.
@armzngunz4 жыл бұрын
Even if they at first think it is street magic, I am sure any cop would be curious enough to try and touch it at least and try investigating it. If you're convincing enough and the monster starts attacking the police, the situation will escalate as the cops try to take it down.
@margaretilton91643 жыл бұрын
I did some math and the creature walks at 72 miles a day so just take a 48 km drive every day as it will give you 6 hours of peace and quiet but the average human needs 8 hours of sleep so you'd need to drive a little bit further
@SpaceOink4 жыл бұрын
Strong as any human is. Did you forget what it does to the first victim we see in this movie? That's not made by human hands. How ever. Reveal it to the public is most likely the smartest thing to do, because it has a physical body in this world, and can act against it as such.

According to the director, even being in outer space wouldn't save you because the Entity WOULD find a way to get to you. So no matter what, all you can do other than suicide is buy yourself more time. I think the best way to beat the Entity (or the closest you can get to beating it) would be to combine the video's methods: 1. Use the spraypaint technique in public near law enforcement or military personnel AND in view of a camera, such that it becomes physically visible and its existence becomes known by others. This will provide you with much-needed support for step 2. 2. Trap the Entity (or chase it down) into a large pyramid-shaped hole with spikes or a flamethrower or an acid bath at the bottom. The shape of the hole makes it difficult to climb out of, and the hazard at the bottom will do enough damage to incapacitate it (like shooting it in the head during the pool sequence) 3. Fill the hole with concrete. Top that hole with some kind of steel plating, and surround that hole with an additional hazard (spikes, gates, electric fence). Assuming the Entity doesn't have some overpowered teleporting ability, it has to find a way around all of that, which takes time. 3a. If possible, drop that concrete pyramid into the Marianas Trench, or some other extreme location, just for extra insurance. 4. Be promiscuous with other promiscuous people in locations separated by long distances.

So, if you managed to get to a planet on the other side of the galaxy, it would just show up. Like Q from Star Trek:TNG, it would pop-in and then proceed to walk toward you again. So there is no trapping it, even superman throwing the thing in a black hole would not work. Director would be like nope, it has God like powers and just gets more powers I didn't explain before. It is like two five year olds playing superhero, you know that friend who would just make up more superpowers as he went along so he would always win. I suppose you could stop it if you were the last in line and young enough. If you were to survive the creature your entire life until old-age, and hope everyone else the creature was after has died already, then if you die naturally or the creature gets you in the old age home it has no one else to get. No but wait, I bet the rules will change for the creature in that scenario as well, right?

you're introducing logic into a horror movie, cmon now
@cinemapigeon48985 ай бұрын
Unsure if it's true, but writers said even traveling in space wouldn't keep you safe. That does radically change how we understand it, however it seems to spawn a few hundred yards away from its victim before deciding to walk. But then again I feel like it definitely chose to spend days walking within the movie (smart enough to avoid getting ran over I'm guessing), but then again how time passed in the movie isn't the most clear, but days would go by between encounters. It is also super smart and evil. It probably has the strength to bust down doors but still knocks for torment sake. It knows how doors work, it can climb up on roof of a house, knowing how to attack from windows, it knows what electricity and water is, how people may try trapping it, etc... escape routes its victims may take and what not. Really one of the more interesting monsters we've seen in horror films.
@sashmcflash12 жыл бұрын
The monster clearly changes forms at will like during the beach scene. The question is if it's shape-shifting or manifesting a new form. If it's the latter, does it respawn in place or in place of the nearest corpse. In any case I would be on a cross country tour to visit every sperm donor that exists.

The fact that it can be made visible to others without sleeping with them is IMO the best route to go down and you wouldn’t need to get close enough to spray paint it just get a bucket of paint or for humor tar and feather the bastard you could pretty quickly get people on board to science out ways to deal with it but since it’s fiction the rules of the creature are left to our imagination so creating loopholes for rules is up in the air but based on the movie my best bet would be using teamwork to subdue it(thats when you get really creative) unless the creators of this specific concept elaborated more on its abilities then there’s really not much to say but also if this route did work it wouldn’t require ridiculously expensive or impractical ways of getting rid of it like flying around the world or taking a trip to the Marianas trench

Here's kind of an idea on how you can get away from the monster . You could fly to the farthest country from you preferably one not on the same continent or one that needs to be reached by plain then have sex with a very attractive prostitute there or go to a brothel where the prostitute is likely to have sex with plenty of foreigners, In this way the monster has to walk back and forth in between continents while the number of host is still being increased . An example is if someone who lives in Florida sleeps with a Japanese person it would take about 77 or more days to walk from Japan to Florida not including swimming slowing them down. Also The demon would have to walk to the country you flew to following you .

Easy, shipping container with doors at each end. Stand in the middle until it walks in, have a friend lock that side, you leave through the other and lock that side. (or weld it shut) Next fly to an overseas U.S. military base (I suggest Korea) and hire a "comfort worker". By the time it gets there, a lot the base will be able to see it. Then return to the states and you're free to handle the container since it won't be after you. Bonus points if you can ship the container into a nuclear test area.
