The demo with yellow yarn and coloured needle was very very clear in part due to the contrast -I'd suggest that this level of contrast be used in all future demos. Tracy - that striped sweater suits you to a T - add orange pops to your wardrobe!!

Another really great episode! I am just beginning to knit lace, so this was very helpful. I always seem to lose a stitch when I knit lace, so I have to count very carefully every row so that I can correct it right away. I'm the one who would knit along thinking all was well and then have to tink back several rows to correct the mistake. I can't make myself leave it and just do a M1 on my next row. And yes, I will look for just a penny when my checkbook won't balance lol. I'm very OCD I guess. Love you guys!

Check and see if knittinghelp.com (app and website) provides what you need. They have a list of pattern abbreviations, as well as other video categories, that show a technique done both in Continental and noAm/British styles of knitting, where each differs due to which style one uses. I hope that helps. Otherwise googling, or searching KZbin, using the name of the technique, along with the knitting style name, should get you to what you need. Helpful articles on techniques can be found in the online knitting magazine knitting.com. Also searching the forum posts on Ravelry.com, posting a question to the appropriate big board, will elicit an answer (often with pictures or a handy link) almost instantly. If you’re not familiar with Ravelry.com it is free to join. It’s a wonderful knitting resource, a place to keep a record of your knitting projects, store free patterns, or purchase downloadable patterns available through Ravelry. The project pages also support knitting board (loom knitting) knitting, machine knitting, crocheting, weaving, spinning. Last time I checked there were a lot more than several million knitters who come from all over the world and who can converse in different languages. The latter handy if you wish to use a pattern not written in English.

However you hold the yarn, make sure you wrap yarn counterclockwise ( anti-clockwise UK) when looking at the tip, to make another false stitch appear on the right-hand needle before the next stitch you actually finish

First video i saw said ....the kind of yarn over and how you knit it doesn't matter.... after 5 days of struggling with Juniper Berry Shawl i had given up. Spent most of yesterday searching for the info and This pops up on my feed at 2:30p in the afternoon. I am hoping the fact i knit with Eastern European style (formerly Russian Grandmother technique) the way they are described will still work.

Does it make any difference when a slip stitch is added in, like this: P1, yon, S1, K1? Is it still treated like a purl followed by a knit? My pattern uses this and I’m quite confused. Thanks

I love your videos. In this one every time you go to make a stitch you pan out and you can't see what you're doing. Also it would be nice if you used a well-plied cream colored yarn to see the sts clearly

My problem with yarn overs wasn't doing them. It was the return pass on the wrong side. I only found one yt video that assumed correctly, not everyone thats learning a new technique knows what to look for on the return pass. Some of my yarn overs were crossed over the stitch next to it. I had no idea which way to work them. Please always show the return pass in new stitches! I'm also continental knitter, I thought at first that was why.

In Australia we call it yarn fwd or yarn backwards. It's a bit confusing hearing yarn over. 🤔😏🤗

I have a question.. if the pattern says K, YO, K, YO, K, does the actual knitting IN the yarn over count as the next K, or should you do a yarn over WITH a knit, THEN do a knit stitch and then do the next yarn over? I'ma beginner and find it difficult to understand :)
