Absolute error is not measured value minus true value. It's true value minus measured value. If we consider the modulus value then it's OK.

I could say much on this matter. I wasn't supposed to be in a company lecture on the matter - I posed a question and it got management upset. At another company I'd see 7 significant digits being reported for analysis of drugs from rats. Oh well, can't make so-called scientists understand.

This presentation makes the mistake of confusing a population standard deviation with a sample standard deviation lacking Bessel's correction.

Can someone explain why we square add and underroot the values for absolute error (total)? Like what's logic behind it. Asking cause this is a practical subject
@wowZhenek

logic is related to how you calculate standard deviation of a system, which consists of parts, which have their own standard deviation or, respectively, error.

She did a good job. Sometimes these matters do get complicated if we are doing a rigorous and robust analysis.
