Thank you for video. Few hints: - big tweezer is great for pulling out thag ball headed trigger - screwing / un screwing of upper (slimmer) part of cartridge can be done using allen key from the top through hole after ball headded trigger removal. - if your dropper does not work correctly and you smell hydraulic oil - cartridge is dead - cartridge can not be fixed

@@warwickhunt First release all the air and excess oil inside the cartridge until you hear something inside when you shake the cartridge, Then refill the oil then use shock pump to refill the air compartment(300psi). Please do it with caution ⚠ oil may squirt

Thanks!! I noticed that the main problem is dirt getting down where the actuator is. I cut a 2" ring of inner tube and made a boot. Put one hole in it to slip the trigger through. I took my seat post off and slid it up.

great video! My KS eten is starting to have problems like it doesn't go down and sometimes when i pull the string it only goes up half way. Hope this method will fix all troubles. Thank you

Thanks for the video. I had to service my KS e20i which has some similarities to this model. It helped me to see how the guide pins (lower guide bushings) were positioned on the shaft. I'm not sure though what were engineers thinking with e20i's clamp head. This model seems to have it thought through better.

Went through your procedure and my dropper works like new . Maybe better than new as using the slick honey could be better than the grease that came with the dropper . It was all dried up and actually it was difficult to remove the stanchion's from each other and the cleaning was a bit difficult removing the old grease

I can’t for the life of me get the bottom thread out. I could only unthread the top with a 4mm. I was able to expose the guide pins clean all that but yeah bottom won’t budge 🤷🏻‍♀️

4:09 you missed an important part of how to unscrew that thread on the top, it doesn't just come out by itself, you need to screw it in with a 4mm allen key for the cartridge to come out.12:19 also no way you're going to screw it back with needed torque like that, need to reverse thread it with the same 4mm allen key.

Could strip the whole dropper apart bar the top spring loaded piece at the very start...any tips on how to get it out. Dropper wont stay down when dropped. wondering is it just a knackered cartridge.

My stanchion has longitudinal scratches of the size of the actual travel. It happend after a muddy ride...and my dropper post works like shit

Hoping you can help. I have the same one and the cartridge appears to need replacing (won't pop up, and when forced up, won't stay under weight). At the 4min mark, when I remove that end cap, the cartridgde doesn't come out, just the tube. However, I can spin the cartridge around and around, and it will not disengage/come out. Also, at 4min 50sec, my tubes will not come apart far enough to see the guide pins. I'd like to buy a new cartridge and replace, but am concerned since I can't remove the old one.

Hey, I'm having a similar problem but I had already taken mine apart, reassembled and when it didn't yet work, tried disassembling again but now won't release the cartridge housing. I suppose the problem lies with the two threads and something I'm missing. Please let me know if you figure anything out, I'll do the same :)

Same problem here. I can't get the long thin shaft out and I also have the problem of it keeps spinning when trying to release the cartridge

@@gmasse13 Hey, one thing I found was that when trying to undo the top thread, you can actually access it and unscrew it from the top with a small allen key through the hole beneath the top pin. Although, if it's that shaft you can't get out, then I'm not sure. I imagine you've already tried using a BBQ skewer to pick and drag up on the front of the pin or removed it and the spring.

Try pulling the cartridge away from the main body while turning counter clockwise. I hope it helps.

For those coming to this party late (like me), the cartridge is threaded into the body and is accessible to unscrew (reverse-threaded, so unscrew clockwise) with a 4mm allen key through the top access after you remove the pin and rod assembly.

Try shaking it loose? Just pay attention to small parts that may fly. Or some small magnet super glued on chopsticks.

It's screwed in but is accessible with a 4mm allen key (it's reverse threaded, so unscrew clockwise).

No, there is not. you have to buy a different post because the casing/stanchion is not long enough even if the cartridge could go longer.
