I use to have scalp issues in the beginning of my loc journey as well. I now only use a distilled water and aloe gel mixture to moisturize my locs only when needed, but that’s not often, nor no other products. This has help my locs grow STRONG, and no more scalp issues. I only use oil on my scalp and hair when I retwist.

im starting on texlaxed hair, I am 10months post relaxer and I've been 3 months microloced...I was this close to shaving my head last night as i was interlocking. you inspire me to keep going!

New subscriber here. Your video really interested me. I use no products at all, no oils or shampoos. I keep my hair covered most days and wash with only cool water twice a week. My hair is not dirty. I used to have dry hair and scalp issues but now they have gone. I spritz rosewater to moisturise and that's not often either. My hair and scalp are so much healthier for it. I have frizzy roots all the time and my locs grow strong. I was loose natural b4 and became obsessed with perfection. I wanted the wash and goes and perfect twist outs... so silly. My locs are about my hair being in its most natural state. I separate to avoid large congos. The only issue I'm working on is loc envy. I accept my hair is unique to me. Long locs would be nice, after 3 years they are almost shoulder length but the lengths throughout vary because I don't retwist. The Health of my scalp is what's important.
