Thank you, these videos are really informative. I am trying to get my teenage son off his PS4 and I have signed him up to the DofE awards 🤭🙈 which starts in January. I am looking for tips to make the experience more enjoyable for him and we all know that comfort can make or break a weekend. We camp 3 times a year so he is used to camping, but just not at your level. I have stuck a poo trowel in his Christmas stocking this year, I am sure there is going to be a very confused face Christmas morning 🤣 Thanks again and keep the reviews coming 🍻

Most importantly, can 2 of you get on it for a snuggle? 😉 Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Haze, sending, as always much love 💕 I hope everyone watching has either family, friends, love, some laughter, or some good food and drinks. And if you don’t, it’s just another day, so make it a good one by doing the things that you enjoy doing for yourself & that make you happy. I’m sending my love to you all 💕

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XTherm Leaks out the WingLock Valve /// I got a new one and does the same! slow leak.. Test your Valve by using a bowl or pool or anything that you can get the Valve underwater, test closed and open and see if your mat does leak before you go on the trail.. I even pop the top off and i was surprised it does not seat down to the rubber gasket! This would be easy fix for them, they just need the inside of the cap to have the round plastic under the cap to set more into the Tube around the rubber seal..

linear baffles, horizontal or vertical, or a fail for me. Simply not as comfortable as quilted baffles.

has it gotten more quiet over the years of using it? how about comfort?

I have a newer version of the large which has their improved inflation valve (winglock)! This allows a one way inflation but also a way of controlled deflation whilst lying on it to get comfy! I also carry the newest version of the Flextail 4 in 1 mini pump which inflates it in well under a minute! Currently using it to sleep on the living room floor whilst self isolating for 10 days!

Thermarest recently replaced my Neoair all season wide pad. They don’t make it anymore so sent me an xtherm max wide. Great you can buy and have full confidence that in the event of a warranty they’ll sort it without messing about.

Good stuff 🤠👍 I upgraded to large mats for the same reason. I didn't notice the elbow issue before cuz I'm a side sleeper. Ya don't see too many long term reviews. Thanks

I bought the regular wide rectangular xtherm, and bloody hell what a good mat it is. Can't beat it. I've also got the Xlite and both very good mats, that lifetime warranty making it worth paying the extra for.
@affalaffaa2 жыл бұрын
Had my one a few years as well and can't fault it. Done five multi day hikes with it, as well as many other nights and never had a puncture. Got the regular as mainly a side sleeper. Can't remember, or find what I paid for it but it's probably gone up a bit since then. Even at £200 I'd say it's worth it.

Agreed. Have had the same mat (except the regular size) for about 5 years. No issues. Great mat. I do wish I bought the wide version for the reason you stated.

I have my new mat which is R rated at 7.8 and called the Exped Dura 8r 1,2kg. It is quite a weight but I'm old school (60 yrs old) Wild Camping since a kid)) and weight is not a thing for me. Oh boy so warm, you just feel the heat bouncing back to you and it seems much tougher than any Thermarest. I have purchased a Sea To Summit Aeros Premium Pillow Deluxe. Yes I know, being an old man with many a neck pain, just love my comfort! Most important for me on a Scottish or Lakeland hill or mountain in winter wild camping is a seriously good comfortable nights rest. Proper sleep makes you more alert during the day, and less likely to make a bad decision costing you an injury requiring rescue or worse death!

Ok I bit the bullet and got 1 it arrived today so straight out the box I'm happy with it.i got the large I had the s2s either light xt reg so compared to that it's a lot wider and longer but not as thick but it's only 100g heavier.1st impression the valve isn't as good and feels more fragile also pumping up using the pump sack takes a lot longer.the r value is excellent and tbh it doesn't crinkle as bad as I thought it would do you definitely feel the heat bounce back so thanks hazy for the review

I use a DD inflatable mat, it's bloody awful, thin and narrow so I get cold elbows and knees and the smallest stones dig in your hips but I only remember how much I detest the thing when I'm led on it so I've had it for 3 years 😂🙈

You don't mind paying the large price for gear if it works and lasts.i went for the sea to summit either light xt I have used it in winter I'm a side sleeper so the extra depth is great but I agree with you I'd get the large next time as they all run narrow.will give this a serious look for my winter pad though cheers for the review.

@@Mal3ficarum I have the synmat 9 UL LW which I love, I also have the mega mat 10 lxw which I like when I’m not having to carry it very far. My original Synmat 9 had a baffle failure just outside the 5 year warranty and Exped still replaced it for me, can’t fault their customer service.
