He was (still is) so underrated as a musician. As a person. How can anyone fail to recognize his incredible talent...his soul? All the judgement and cruelty throughout his time in the public eye was awful. My heart still hurts for him. I hope he's at peace now. A class act, George Michael; he deserved much more respect than he ever received. He may have made completely different choices- he might even still be around had he not been so ruthlessly tormented. George Michael : What can I say .... I was only 7 years old when I remember listening to the song "Faith" on TV 📺. Now if I say that foreign songs were VERY RARELY PLAYED in USSR as everything was going under strict check up before being broadcast on the tele in 1986. When I heard that voice and saw George Michael with guitar , the cross earing and his moves when singing that song i can't explain what happened to me. I guess I just fell in love with him ! He was that perfect icon, and he was soo close to me as his features reminded me of my daddy (a but older daddy). My mum bought kitchen calendar and there he was on the big poster , his beautiful face ..... Who is this on the calendar, mum ? I asked. I don't know, perhaps some American pop star. She replied. What's a pop star? I asked. A pop star is a person who is singing popular songs. What's popular , mum? (It went on until my mum was fed up with my questions). I was soo curious to know everything that is connected to that magical man on the calendar, my secret hero . SINCE THEN I NEVER STOPPED LOVING ❤ George Michael..... And my dream never came true. That was such a lovely story. I never got to see George live in concert either but I know that everytime I listen to his music he is singing to me, just like he is singing to you. His admirers were who he wrote his music for and all he wanted was to make us happy. Each time you hear him sing, just remember that he is singing to you. It doesnt matter that you didn't get to see him live, although it would've been nice for us both but be assured that when you hear Careless Whisper again, it is being sung for you.

I'd just gone to bed as it had turned midnight in Australia. I hadn't really given much thought to George's passing yet due to the fact that it was Boxing Day for us that the news of his passing come through with time zone differences. Every year I dedicate that day to respectfully listening to this most incredible artist. I don't just get goosebumps when listening to George's flawless vocals but there is some deeper connection that I cannot explain. His songs as well have been a constant companion to me throughout his career and still to this day in my life. Only a few people have ever affected me in the way that this musical genius has and I thank you George from the bottom of my heart for the many gifts you have given us all, which we continue to benefit from for the rest of our lives. You're in a better place now, away from all whom continually hounded you. You are with your family and friends in peace. It's also the first anniversary of your sisters passing which will be even sadder for your family left on earth. You're forever in our hearts and your music infiltrates our soul. Actually, there were hints here and there of his generosity that were very public. It wasn't until they were all lumped together that it finally sunk in to many. It was mostly media who back tracked after hounding him all his adult life that suddenly saw him in a different light. He never cared that much for money which made it so much easier for him to give it away. I learnt this lesson very young in life, that it's a greater gift if given without pomp and circumstance but quietly and low-key. Apparently George felt the same.
