Man, they didn't need to stop the tree planting in the town areas. I guess I'll be thankful for my first game save. Everywhere looks like mini forests with all the trees I planted around. I'm sure Concerned Ape had his reasons for stopping that, but what a bummer.

I had trees in town that despawned when I loaded into the save. I did get the wood/sap from them but still made me sad as I liked the way my town looked.

After receiving the name of the person you have to give a gift to for the winter star festival, one of the menu windows (I think it's the one with your skill levels on) it actually has in the corner a small picture of the NPCs face to remind you of who you have to get a gift for

You can buy mannequins at Sandy's shop and dress them up. When you click on them, your outfit is switched to the one it is wearing. Nice for people who want to switch their outfit quickly each day.

You can also get a cursed mannequin from the mine in the quarry by defeating those strange skeletons. I went in blind and had no idea what it was, placed it, and was terrified to see it move on its own 😭

Thank you for setting off the Fireworks! I had not seen them before, even though you can get them from Qi's Walnut Room or the Casino. I did not know you could take the seasonal decorations! I did know about the clothes and furniture that are always turning up in my inventory. And I think ALL games that have Chests should take note on how to Upgrade Them Properly!! It is so wonderful to Thunk the Big Chest or Big Stone Chest on top of a regular Chest and it just works so excellently! You even get the small regular Chest back to use elsewhere!

I know Penny and Sam dance together at the flower festival, but I view them as purely platonic, Sam is probably very grateful towards Penny for everything she does for Vincent. Leah, Elliot, Shane, and Emily are also just friends in my mind, I don’t really view them as being romantic with each other

I think it's really icky to see anyone else as a "rival" especially since there is little reference to anyone having romantic feelings for anyone else outside of the farmer using the bouquet. It's gross to stand in the way of these long-established friendships just because you're dating them - normalise people still having a life outside of family!!!

Very minimal and might not be from 1.6 but you can walk on the tide pools on the rightmost side of the beach now excluding festivals. Has a splash sound. Ginger Island tidepools are still unable to be walked on.

I had zero idea about rice turning into vinegar. At one point, I was gathering salmonberries and got a foraging upgrade and thought "Wait! Huh? What did I do?" Thanks for confirming that you get points for gathering berries now because I thought I was imagining things. That's good extra incentive to make the time to go on berry picking runs! I also didn't know that you can tap the exotic trees to get Fiddlehead ferns. One of my favorite things in 1.6 are all the additional ways you can acquire coal. It's so much easier now!

Well, I knew that placing a larger chest over a small chest will replace the chest itself, but I didn't know that it also replaces the items in it.... and here I was taking all the items out and put them in other chests while making all these changes to my farm like an idiot😑

I think trees that have lost their leaves in fall don't produce sap for that season as well. I'm not seeing that on the wiki though, so not 100% sure if that's true. Anyone else notice that, or am I nuts?

I have one, its still about the chests but its more specific. You not only can replace a chest with a bigger version, but you can also interchange them between stone and wood ones too without having to move anything :)

I play on console,so I don't have the update yet, but I'm happy to hear about the cap on lost items on dying in the mines. The other day, I died in the volcano,and I lost 14 items,plus a bunch of gold. That's the highest number I've ever lost,I almost cried. I was so upset,that I completely forgot about restarting the day. I could have kicked myself,when I remembered later.

The trees that drop their leaves are actually changed into a different type of tree called green rain tree. I play with UI info suite mod so the tree name is changed when I hover over them from the original oak/maple/pine trees. I don’t know if they turn back because I always just chop them down when I see them but I see others in the comment mentioned that they stop producing sap if there is an existing tapper on it.

I used to plant a few of the normal trees on Ginger Island, but couldn't in my new save. It used to be handy to put two each of oak, maple and pine trees with taps on near the parrot north of the farm for crafting ingredients there.

Thank you Sharky , and thank you generous ConcernedApe, may your dig spots always be filled with Stardrops. 🤩 The one addition that I was really hoping for was to add the icons for all the townies onto the map. I have lost so much time and gained so much frustration from not being able to find npcs to deliver quest items or gifts. I know we can look it up on the wiki but that is very immersion breaking and time consuming. Mods are not currently available on mobile or PlayStation as far asI know so, Please don’t waste time telling me that mods can fix it! 🤷‍♀️

i think that fireworks were already available in the casino. what happened is they added a limit of 20 per day because they were totally absurd money makers. if you had a bunch of tokens you could buy and sell them for insane profit. thats why the casino was banned in a lot of speedruns iirc
