Hm! Learning. I thought the vacuum breaker was so when you drained it to flush it, it let air in, not the Fire Truck stuff! Neat!

That vacuum breaker may be working more often. My town (In Massachusetts) has the water board regularly come out and flush the fire hydrants, about twice a year. We definitely have a drop in pressure when they have the hydrants open on my street. They will run the hydrant open and send the water into the street for about 3+ minutes. I have hydrants all the way down my street, every 1000+ feet(?) or so.....

Good for turning that into a cold start. No need to waste gas to keep that boiler at temp for 4+ months.

Replaced my old hot water tank in February with a new 40 gal hit water tank. 1850 dollars later. They had to do some modifications to the closet.

I bet the water heater was rocking or tilted, so they just threw the steel plate under it as a shim to level it. everything is going up in price because all the companies moved their plants to China now shipping and prices are out of control, we make nothing in America.

Hey Steve I live in a apartment with questionable plumbing so I put a whole house filter on the shower head I know they have ones made for that but they're garbage 🗑 😊

i never realized until watching steves videos how homes in the northeast get hot water by using oil heat mostly to fire a boiler to get hot water to wash your hands. This is an incredible waste of energy that was designed back when oil was 50 cents a barrel. the whole region never updated

Why question a true professional? Steve knows what he’s talking about, and I don’t know anything about plumbing. You could tell me to install a dielectric T in and I wouldn’t have a clue. That’s what I pay professionals for.

i knew somebody who said our city water was terrible because they lived in an apartment downtown it was all brown the water, I told her that's the idiots who worked on the apartment using iron pipe rather than brass nipples or copper. they were saving a couple dollars.

Dielectric unions on Dielectric nipples do NOT last. They work against eachother. Those Dielectric nipples to brass or to copper is perfect

dairy farms have to have watts N36 vacuum breaker on water main and another on any/all power washer inlets with no less than 17" long pvc stand pipe danger is water leak/vacuum scenario coliform bacteria could enter through parlor sanitation nozzles faucets livestock fountains new mpo rules also require check valve on water main

Hi Steve, can you use galvanized fittings with black gas pipe ? I thought that code only allows black fittings to be used with black pipe on natural gas ( now known as per Sleepy Joe administration as methane flatulence) !! Lol 😆
