There's another video on line - 30 Great All Black Tries Against South Africa - which, as a loyal All Blacks fan I enjoyed watching. The comments from South African viewers are generous, so, in all fairness, I have to balance the ledger by watching this one. Now I can appreciate the pain of Springbok fans watching that other video - the tries shown here are outstanding, if scored against the wrong team, heheh. We go back a long way, don't we, South Africa? When I was 10, my parents went to watch the first and last games of the 1956 Springbok tour of New Zealand and I was very annoyed that they didn't take me with them - I had to stay home and listen to Winston McCarthy's commentaries on the radio. The last game, at Eden Park, had the biggest crowd ever to watch a game in New Zealand - 65,000. Spectators were even sitting up in trees inside the park. The first time I saw the Springboks was nine years later, against Otago at Carisbrook.

@@MarsFKA I think world rugby is making a mistake. There is too much rugby going on. We need the crowds to fill the stadiums again. Special tours will do that. Especially now that it seems that Sanzar is breaking up we can have tours again.
@MarsFKA2 жыл бұрын
@@lynxvideophoto3d334 The biggest mistake that world rugby is making is charging too much for stadium seats for the multitude of games that are being played. The rugby public are being saturated with games and how often do we see half-full stadiums these days, when lower prices would ensure more bums on seats? In 2016, Wales played the All Blacks at the Stadium in Dunedin. My wife and I had no plans of going, but, a couple of months before the game, during a conversation with my daughter who lives in Florida, I mentioned that the last time I had seen the All Blacks live was in 1977. Half an hour later, my daughter texted back, "Thirty-seven years is too long. Here are some tickets for the game." I still can't get over that. She and her husband are always doing stuff like this for us, but when I saw how much they cost her, I nearly fainted.

These brilliant historical tries remind me to post the following historical facts and stats of Rugby between the mighty Springboks and the steady All Blacks. They played 108 tests against each other since 1921. Up to last Sunday's test in Cape Town the Springboks have won a total of 42 scoring 1789 points plus 4 draws. While the All Blacks won a total of 62 scoring 2235 points. The points difference is 446 which equals 63 converted tries! So the current gorge between the two old foes is 20 more wins and 63 more converted tries. Not to worry fans, the Springboks will catch up soon judging by the way they are winning two at a time.
