40'S ON A STOCK JEEP GLADIATOR!

We put 40 inch tires on a stock Jeep Gladiator and see if it is drivable. Will 40s fit on a gladiator? Can you drive a gladiator on 40s without a lift? You are about to find out. So far this is our favorite Jeep Gladiator mod!

How much of a lift do you need for 40's???

What brand and size are those wheels? Is it rubbing any metal anywhere or just the flares? Are you getting the 3.5 rockkrawler X factor?

20 inch blackrhino arsenals. Just rubbing on the flairs although it might rub in other places if it could get past the flares. The lift is the Rock Crawler Pro-x rear track bar delete. But I’m using evo 4.5 in springs with king 2.5s

I drove from tire shop all the way home on 40's no lift, freeway also...the faster you drive the more exaggerated the steering becomes so i was fine until driving slow and sharp turns then made some 5 point turns...they do look mean stock

disagree...i ran 40's in both my gladiators with the 8 speed auto plenty of gearing and low end grunt...highway use you drop it into manual mode and choose the gear of your choice

nice jeep but if you haven't upgraded your axles your making a huge expensive mistake. The 44s can safely handle 37s but 40's will stress the axles and lead to problems. Really needs the lift. Other wise you'll take it off road and rip the fenders off with those 40's.

Upgraded axles like 60’s cost 20k+ before install. If he’s gonna drive it around town he might as well fix issues with the 44’s as they arise. He also said in the video right away that he’s just waiting for the lift, he doesn’t plan on taking it off road like this 😂

wait i hope he puts a truss on the front cause......40's on a dana 44's is pretty sketch especially on the front cause of the FAD (front axle disconnect) and the rear axles is gonna be "dangerous" not as much on the front since the rear is a bit stronger of course,but damn man i will say it looks freaking sick and since im a car guy as well i just love.....LOVE the wide and low bulldog stance were the truck is low and you got really tall and wide tires

@@Projectoffroad ahhh ok i was really gonna get worried for yall cause those trail grapplers are some heavy tires and they're 40's,but also couldn't you get some 2.5" lift springs from teraflex cause i was gonna go with the same lift as you (so the rock krawler pro x with the triangulated rear) and go with a fender chop kit to fit a 37 wih the least amount of lift to keeo the truck low and well....make it look cool and hey it gives you a lower center of gravity wich is great for offroading,but also ive been wanting to do 2" lift springs on the back to "level the front" since my front is already lower than stock cause of my genright bumper and my warn winch,but hey ill figure something out

That sounds like a great setup! I had to go 4.5 springs for the 40s but also wanted the pro-x. I like your idea of keeping it low. Wonder how I could make it work with 40s ha ha. Maybe take the fenders completely off. Lol 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@Projectoffroad I mean ive seen people that just use a 3 inch lift and a fender chop kit from like american adventure labs and run 40's so i dont see why you could just use the Pro X lift and remember the lift is gonna give you more than 3 inches cause on my jk i had bought a lift kit from rock krawler and it was a 3 inch lift and it actually gave me just a tad over 3.5 inches,but to be honest it think you "should be fine" cause ive seen a video of a JT running 40's on a 3 inch lift and that gladiator had a hemi in it as well so yeah if i get the link ill send it to you :D

I know right, I was torn between the two sizes as well. I also looked very seriously at 38s. Toyo MTs makes a awesome tire in 38s. I think you could stick with the 3 in lift with those.
