Thank you for showing us how it's done. When the Artist just sits there and talks about what to do, it's very hard to learn. Your visual, along with your concise directions, are key to good learning. That corner trick is set to memory. May I ask what your tension and stitch length are? Thanks again. :)
@SewToFit11 ай бұрын
You are so welcome! Base the tension in your machine. Mine is automatically set to the fabric and machine. Stitch length is 2.5 for this fabric. Fabric determines length.

Perfect…..very detailed. Thank You…..will be trying this on some swaddling gauze today. I’m making some lightweight summer scarves.

I have tried a rolled hem foot on my old Singers 66 treadle machine and on my sweet little Featherweight machine and I can tell you it took all the patience I could find to get it done. I won’t mention that I learned a few new words during my struggle. You make it look so easy. So does Niler Taylor. She also has a good video on using this foot.

Lol. I really didn’t redo or undo any parts of this video. I do hear you though!! I’m sure your new words won’t rival my when I’m trying to learn a new skill. Happy to hear you got a bit completed and didn’t stop trying. AD

I had a hard time also, trying to do a rolled hem. What helped me was, I held the fabric up higher and on an angle and kept a lot of control on it. Very steady. WOW - I was so surprised how easy it went through so perfectly. I even did better standing up and putting it through the machine using my technique.

Now that’s fun. I’ve been standing up sewing over the past few months. I do pull it to the side as well. Way to go. Now I want to see your tips video.

I wish I could’ve seen how to start the hem on the circle. How is that done?
@SewToFit2 жыл бұрын
It’s harder on the corners. This was a great intro. But just do it like running off the or on the serger. Once you get started just begin folding.

AD - thank you so much for this video! I searched "rolled hem" and watched several but yours is the best and thanks for showing the square edge type as well as the circular skirt type. I will now practice w my rolled hem foot before doing the actual dress!!

This is a great video! I wish sewing machines and I could get along, but I can never successfully thread a bobbin. 🙁 My mom is a pro, though, and I can't wait to tell her about your channel! Keep sewing, sister!

Carla Martin I’ll need to Filming right now. I’ll check in later. that. Yes you can do on the serger.

Thanks so much for showing us how to do the corner! This is something not very commonly shown on sheer fabric or this type of foot, from what I've seen.

I learned to do that in high school. I hated to use the thing until I finally got it to work.

I still need to practice the one on the industrial juki.
@susanmazzanti56434 жыл бұрын
It's not that easy to learn but great once you do. I would have to practice a lot to use that foot again and I see no need to buy a new surger that will do a rolled hem when the rolled hem foot costs so little.

Bernina gets their fair share and more from the feet 🦶 cost. But they are wonderful. So I call it up.
