I was studying scriptures the other day and realized that the wilderness of sin becomes a reference in latter scriptures for a 40 year period of temptation. With that said January 1st of 2023 is the 40 year mark for the roll-out of the internet and cellular phone technology. Does this seem significant to anyone else?

Physics says time is relative, and that the past, the present, and the future, are all happening at once. That probably means "unraveling the past" means so much more than can be conveyed. That would mean our undecided past is deciding our future right now.

God wanted to throw His wrath on them for being stiff necked. Moses begged for mercy. God doesn't like stiff necked. Let's just not only take scriptures out of content. Let's CHANGE the meaning COMPLETELY. make it up. So we can say God just loves us sinning so we can make it good we doubt God and we can worship other gods because God likes it. Only reason God didn't throw his wrath. Because he kept his promise. Stiff neck. They shared God with a cow. Cuz that's the kind of relationship God desires. One he shares false gods with so he can just keep proving himself. This is such bull I can't believe anyone sees this as not twisting scriptures.

Thank you, Rabbi, for your perspective. My mother was of French descent, and my father was Irish. I was born in Missouri in the United States. Missouri is the show me state. I was raised as a Catholic and understand as a human how hard it is to understand God's forgiveness and his grace. I also understand as humans the, what else are you going to do for me? The bible tells us we were created in the likeness of God. As humans we confuse the issue as being like God. Humans do not recognize that we are not gods. God gave humans the right to choose between good and evil. Therefore, we choose between Heaven and Hell. How do we become one religion that accepts one statement, I believe in God the Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth. As a human, it is either too difficult, or maybe way to easy to confuse our relationship on this earth as children of God. I thank you for your time and hope that in the multitube of responses that you will answer mine. God bless you and keep you safe. I respect and thank you for your time to respond to the common man. I believe you may have misunderstood the rabbi quite badly. Very often, hidden within bad actions is often a good intention. Unfortunately many times humans miss the mark when trying to carry out and we need to make corrections. Unless you understand the driving force behind the sin, it is very hard to help the person correct it. That is why we need to judge everyone kindly in order to be able to correct them. It is not wrong to say stiffneck is a compliment. It is also not wrong to compliment a angry person as passionate, or a emotional person as empathatic or a rebellous person as creative.. these are just traits directedly wrongly. Stick with these people, help them redirect and harness their traits and it will be worth it. Work with these stiffneck people, and harness their best traits and you will get a loyal people who will not yield to 2000 years of persecutions, exile, pogroms, torture, inquisitions, holocaust, antisemitism, forced conversions and murder. Not only will they not yield, you might even get some bad jokes at the end of it. Pretty sure modern psychology agrees with this.

If we expect then all we can do is expect from others or God ; to do for ourselves is the teaching and the learning of. Fear of ones own expectation is the creation of fear. The expectation is the stumbling block if there is no expectation then it will come in the grace of acceptance of purely being in the presence of God and God in all. For me to talk of God is a complete polarity shift not from lack of love or heart but from misrepresentation.

Rabbi, I respectfully disagree. I would say the children of Israel should have been the most faithful of all the peoples of this world. The children of Israel moaned for Liberty while enslaved in Egypt. G-d heard them. In the desert, they groaned about how much better slavery is because they had food, leeks, and melons. Freedom is a desert; we must be faithful to G-d to be fruitful and multiply in freedom. Woe to them that call evil good and good evil- this is what happened with the children of Israel; they accused G-d of being evil and slandered Moishe.

My thinking is this these Levels are ten levels of pride of Israel people. They are approaching God with a fix mind or with a canal mind. To my understanding Rabai is missing out something, with all due respect to him, let us call sin what is deserve to called SIN. If we try and sugar coat our actions of sin and we say we are doing fine when we're sining we will be separated from God.“How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you- when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. Proverbs 1:22‭-‬27 This story is just displaying the humbleness and patience of God waiting for all to come to repentance and not to perish in evil ways.

You dear people have every right to believe whatever you like. Even the stories and myths of the Exodus. You do understand, don’t you, that they are all meant to be insights into the relationships between yourselves , who believe you are God’s chosen people, and Himself, as being a way to become better people. Good on you for your beliefs. However, they have no more relevance to Life than the stories and myths of any other people. Viva la difference.

Making God who loves our constant rebellion so he can prove he loves us.. only reason he didht throw his wrath on them is cuz Moses begged and used the promise given .. God was angry. So making being stiff necked to be a compliment... hey. I know translations can change. Like awful was full of aw. But. There's no way to spin this good if actually using scriptures.. but man. People will always find something to complain about, like for example: Lebron James complained about how black were enslaved by white people and yet he lives in the most luxurious place and getting paid well by this so-called oppressor. Then when it comes to the Chinese workers going against their own oppressors, he went against the workers and sided with the Communist party. A total failure! Is he really against oppression or pro-oppression? It is easy for him to say it than to actually do it. You see, many of these people love to be virtuous when given freedom but when you put them back to slavery, they all quiet down and pray that some savior out there will save them from their own stupidity. Funny how that works? Is God their slave that they can call any time they want? or God is their main oppressor? God can play both. Why do people like Lebron James feel so oppress when he lives freely? Should God need to put this kind of people back to slavery mode and actually experience their ancestor's pain? No PAIN, No GAIN?

While I like many of your interpretations and appreciate your deep thoughts here you are wrong. The Bible says the Israelites sinned against God in the desert. Rabbi Manis says no, they didn't. They were just too humbe to accept miracles. (So they were actually virtuous instead of sinful??) While it might be honorable to save your ancestors' face it simply does not hold the truth. They had a crowd mentality and feelings and stubbornly disobeyed God over and over again. Read for example Tehilim 78 (Psalm 78) where it says: "But they sinned even more against Him By rebelling against the Most High in the wilderness." (v. 17)

I listen, I respect and I appreciate, but I see an arrogant interpretation. How can we test our LORD by committing idolatry to see if He Loves us? Allah is Glorious, He is One and Self Sufficient. Even you Jews, our cousins, believe that He is a Jeleous God. But as Muslims who practice ultimate monotheism, we must ensure that we understand this as a praiseworthy Attribute and it does not mean that His Jealousy can make Him vulnerable to being almost controlled and tested by the Jews. Yes, I respect, love and long for an intimate relationship with my Creator, the LORD, but even his Friend, our father Abraham, would not dare test him how you describe, respected Rabbi. The Jews were simply saved by the prayers of their forefathers, the tawbah (repentance) of their sinners, and the steadfastness of their worshipers, scribes and scholars - NOT because they were so close with God that they could get away with anything.
