I remember getting my first pair in 1982 for Christmas. Back then they were over $100 and made in America. A well done job.
@OgeiDennepeL Жыл бұрын
Well,now they’re still well over 100$,€ or whatever currency you choose,and made in Taiwan at best.

Nice work! That guy is lucky you were willing to work on a pair of disposable, cemented construction boots like that and give them a second, better life. I would have told him to throw them away and get a pair of properly constructed boots.

@@CobblerG 😂😂 always a pleasure Mark.I have 3 Mint Pairs of Black x 2 and 1 Deep Bergundy Colour Caterpillar Sequoia Boots which if you check them out have a very different Sole Construction to normal Caterpillar boots that I think incorporate stacked up leather or Wood on them and definitely Look More Premium as well as Bomb proof compared to Timberlands. None of them are even close to needing a resole and I’m not sure what Sole that would last as long as the originals would go on them when the time comes.

I want to turn my Timberlands into zero heel walking/hiking boots. Got some lavender Timberlands on clearance for $20 over 20 years ago. Not super high end, but really nice quality uppers with a gusseted tongue and crappy soles with a heel. I had to heat treat for bed bugs and the soles expanded up to a quarter inch over-hang in places!! and popped off. The weird strechiness of the soles made them curve before they popped off which was also disconcerting. I can't walk in raised heels and my Vans skate shoes catch way too many stickers and grass seeds and dirt, so resoling these may be a happy decision. Thanks for the video

Mark, I have a question, Can you blake stitch a shoe not make for that. Like timberlands boot? Congrats on the 3 K subscriptions. I finally found your Instagram, you have to put the link on your description. Any restrictions for Covid? Good luck Karen

I have 2 pairs of 40 below Timberland brand new never worn I'm looking to get metal taps put on them. It's hard to find someone that will do that.
@CobblerG Жыл бұрын
Hey, are they rubber soles? If so, metal toe plates wouldn't really be the best thing as they don't sit with the rubber very well. Especially if it's the usual Lug timberland soles.

Interested in getting some of my own boots resoled in a similar way but one cobbler quoted me around £70 with the upper already separate from the base as the glue has gone. What sort of price would they be to get done at your place? I got a new pair of DMs at an outlet store for £70 recently so seems crazy to spend the same resoling a broken pair but I think the leather in them is still in great condition. Just original Timberland soles seems to wear down quick on me.
@CobblerG2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, if the uppers are still in good condition it's always good to consider resoling them! This type of Job ran at £85, that included welts, leather midsole and vibram units plus the clean up too. With vibram they will last a lot longer than the timberland original soles! G
@RedBeardSte2 жыл бұрын
@@CobblerG Yeah my leather uppers were always waxed in the past and when I was putting dubbin on them last night the soles just came off really easy. Mine are Earthkeeps and the uppers seem to be in good nick still but I'm not sure I spent £80 on them new from the outlet store. Seems crazy to spend more on soles than the cost of a new pair from there.
@chinatownboy7482 Жыл бұрын
Timberland and Dr. Martens are disposable. It cost less to buy a new pair of boots, than what the cobbler charges for resole.
