Truly a beautiful job. When I was a young fellow I used to sell Florsheim shoes . Some 27 years ago. The Imperials were the best they made. I only sold a few because those who purchased them were lawyers, accountants, corporate executives and yes undertakers. These American made shoes were on par with Alden’s and Allen Edmonds. I’m glad to watch you bring them back to spectacular condition. These vintage shoes are becoming very popular with collectors and those who appreciate quality.

It is very interesting to see how other Cobblers work. I have my favorite. Same steps. Slightly different techniques. Must be nice to fix one's own shoes. Excellent job (as far as a non-cobbler) can tell. I hope they fit you.

"Back in the old days," we would perk up black shoes by putting a coat of black leather dye (Kelly's, Esquire, Zoe's) and the polished the shoes with Kiwi or Esquire shoe polish. You got a deep, black finish.

Mark Ive Been meaning to ask also on why you would not use the Polishing Wheels to Wax Renovate and Shine any pair of shoes instead of doing it by hand.
@CobblerG3 жыл бұрын
Hey dude. The brushes on the machine are caked in a lot of waxes from the years of use and It sometimes isn't the best wax for the leather uppers, I like doing it by hand to get a nicer finish, takes a bit longer but a better result in my opinion. 👊
@TheNeilo-Audiosound Жыл бұрын
Mark Doing a Re-Watch of this one so my 2nd comment as I’m looking to Buy a pair of these. You mention these ones your working on are tight on your feet? I’m a Size 9 usually so are these true to size? And do I stick to buying a size 9.Hope you don’t mind the Asking Mate🙏 Only reason is Grenson ( my other Brogues) are Big fitting and an 8.5 Size would have fit me better than the 9 I bought.
@CobblerG Жыл бұрын
Cheers dude! These are pretty tight because they are a size 9B so are a little more of a narrow last than what I'm used to, however they have loosened up over time with wear and are alot better fitted nowadays. Respect dude.

So, did you say that you’ll be using these as a work shoe for yourself? If I caught that correctly, then why no rubber on the sole anywhere? They turned out stunning, but with only leather and that classic heel, traction won’t be so great
