Fenders alone need massive space if they are sized properly. If the bow is very much curved, You need these ball shaped fenders, that have the size of a gymnastic ball . And the look really stupid when on a cruise.😄 You can never have too much space for this.

A Few Thoughts: Nothing like a push notification that Nick has fresh content on a Friday at lunch...! A cup of tea and some shortbread is in order. What a brilliant solution for a tender...! Simply yet perfect design engineering. Same with the canopy system. Bright, clean, crisp, contemporary finishes throughout... Classy! Harmon/Kardon audio... Sweet. Obviously, a bottle of Gin is requisite... Love the Galley location. There's a lot of boat for a 42-footer here...! Beautiful Master Cabin... Between fit & finish, and the material selection... Just so rich looking. An En Suite with a separate shower compartment...? Aw yeah... And the day heads have a separate shower compartment as well...?!? Way to go Fairline...! Ruh-row... The rope lighting needs to be reinstalled in Cabin #2...! Oops. The TV more than makes up for it though...! Dedicated 'emergency cabinet' is smart. What a gorgeous Flybridge...! The bar unit is again, perfect. So spacious too. For 6+ years old - she's also spotless...! Al in all, a fantastic couples boat...! Another spectacular tour Nick... Thanks! Cheers mate!

For a six/seven year old and I guess 42 foot boat, this Fairline Squadron 42 is very spacious and a well designed vessel. The flybridge is amazing for its size and the Fairline quality shines through. They make some of the best small to medium size yachts available today. This example shows Fairline's commitment in maintaining customer satisfaction. Their latest yacht range are up to the minute super quality, fair priced and desirable pieces of kit. They would always be on my British yacht manufacture shopping list. Italian is good but for a robust and lasting yacht (remember past Italian cars) think British build and you can't go wrong. Thank you Nick for this interesting review of a classic flybridge, no one does it better.

Great Vlog👍and nice boat!! I like the way the windows are split in the living/seating area. The thick upholstered bar going between them adds more color to the interior and reminds me of the way houses with cathedral ceilings look with the windows stacked on top of each other. Somehow makes it feel bigger to me, and gives a feeling of some privacy because it's not just a huge open view into the boat but still has multiple long windows to allow for easy viewing to the outside. The convertible seating on the flybridge and the rear of the boat add a lot of style and options for how you want to use each area!

Of all Nick's reviews, this boat seems to best fit my repeat cruising plans - Scandinavia to the Med, wintering in-between at St. Kat's adjacent to Tower Bridge - while being suitable for short-handed crew and with an aesthetic I find genuinely pleasing. Great looking boat both inside and outside, very unique high/low dinghy dumper and amazed that they got two heads with separate showers on board. Smallish engine room and the ~200 mile range at ~20 knots kind of hold it back but if you are paying people to service the engines and 200 miles is enough for you it is hard to find better in this size/performance range.
@etc-and-more3 жыл бұрын
@@billbrooke4355 Probably not a huge difference until you get to 8 knots or less. If you expect 0.9 to 1.0 smpg at around 20 knots and 1.5 to 1.75 smpg at 7.5 knots you won't be disappointed. In my experience you generally want to get where you are going so not much 7.5 knot cruising.
