Ciao, wow awesomely priced this beautiful spacious interior Catamaran is Nick. What a fantastic sailboat for a couple taking a few friends on the seas, with lots of storage space. I only spotted one fridge/freezer though, I personally would want 2 large fridge/freezers. While living and attending school in Hertfordshire, many years ago, I belonged to a sailing club near Rickmansworth that had very small Catamaran boats, but nothing compared to this beautiful baby! No wonder they have sold over 200 of these models worldwide. God bless you buddy, love from Italy 🇮🇹 🙏 xxx

interesting. and shocking the number they have sold but i guess the price is right. i cant imagine ever owning a vessel where when cruising in any given weather you were purchased to perilously close to the back of the vessel with very little protection. but i do prefer a center cockpit in a cruising sailing yacht. lovely tour....thank you sir nicholas.

It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but Mr Burnham sir considering it has a pokey thing sticking up in the air and under powered engines, I have to say if I were to go for a yacht with this type of propulsion and for this length I'd probably be happiest with a catamaran,and this one is very tidy. A sensible layout and nothing trying to be clever for the sake of it, I would suggest a water maker as an option because you can be away for ages but without water it’s a struggle to do much. The area in the bow for storage might be handy for a spare sail in case of emergency or similar supplies. It’s certainly got potential.

Nice enough for family pootling around, but would have liked to know the following? 1) What is the 'build', strength, rigidity of the hull and superstructure? 2) Does it have a generator - if so what spec.? 3) Does it have a watermaker - if so what spec.? 4) Does it have heating & AirCon? 5) Are other engines available - particularly with alternatives to the 'saildrive' which generates a lot more drag than conventional drives?
@georgeburn9612 ай бұрын
Just rented one for the week - had 2 berths instead of lockers in the bow - 10 proper berths without using the saloon; in an 11m boat! Not great storage in the galley though; at least not without modifying the underseat storage into draws etc. Good in a near storm too, it turns out; but you do feel a bit vulnerable right at the back when the swell gets up - autopilot wasn't coping (overheating and tripping off) so hand steering it was the only option.
@nextariАй бұрын
yes I've done crossings on cats and on night watch you may be drowsy but paying attention enough. This just seems dangerous, even in the daytime. First thing I would do is modify the helm area with solid back rest at minimum and probably a webbing screen in the footwell.

Wowwww Nick, now if I was into sailing then that would be a serious contender. I'm glad the designer skipped on the dishwasher and rising TV, totally not needed on a sailboat my POV of course 😂(unless an owner wanted a marina queen, but that's not the point of sailing, is it) oh the starting price is very amenable too. Cheers DougT

A guy I went to school with joined the navy and learnt to sail there. After a few years got dry feet and we ended up working for the same company. He sailed competitively with the company team. He maintained Hobie Cats were the only cats worth sailing. Arnt they really a mono hull. He thought for a moment and agreed. Yes you spend 90% of you time on a good day with only one hull in the water.😄 He lives in Brisbane now sailing Hobie cats in the sun. I never liked Cats motor or sail, but that's a well laid out boat for the price. A bit of upgrading to hide the exposed cabin gel coat and you have a nice cosy boat.

Also a little too much naked gelcoat inside for me, I'd maybe ask Setag if they could do something with it. Don't get me wrong though, I like this. It's a lot of boat for the price point.

Just one query do Excess only do sailing yachts? Or just with engines.

I'm baffled as to why there is no protection afforded the helm stations. I can understand perhaps on a single hull where the boom would be lower, but on this boat, the boom would be over the roof and thus out of line of sight. Otherwise, interesting boat.

Nick.......a blow boat ???? 🤔🤔Never thought I would see the day, but still a great tour. This one seems to aim clearly at the charter market or otherwise warmer climates. Interior looks nice, well thought of, but I fear that the times of catamarans in the Med are about over. They are getting hammered in the ports and marinas, having to pay double berthing fees and if you are just a couple that is not really fun. I am not a blow boat person, I like our trawler, but I can see myself on this in the Caribbean any other warm spot on this planet.

I know absolutely nothing about boats/sailing, but aren't those helm positions quite exposed if you were going through rough seas?
@moonhand83112 ай бұрын
Incredible boat. There's one big negative. The aft helms are useless for anything more than daysailing. You are too exposed, as are your expensive instruments (check back in three years....) and potentially at risk. Ask anyone whose sailed across the Channel or Biscay and you'll understand (in comparison to other cats with more protected helms). One of the key points for cruising catamarans is the protection and ease of helming. If you want the water 1m away, love wearing foul weather gear, and like waves breaking over your feet, and rain and wind saturating you, then this is the boat, or buy a mono! Just wait and watch - people will start to build 'toilet tents' around them like they have had to on the Outremers, for example. Second, the price is not really £400k for a 'normal' person. You have to add alot to that with the right gear loaded, and then VAT. I'm not saying its not good value, but the uninitiated need to know that in reality it is closer to half a million, or more. Everyone must stop listing prices ex-VAT as it is disingenuous.
@AQUAHOLIC2 ай бұрын
How many people with boats like this choose to go out when there are 'waves breaking over your feet, and rain and wind saturating you' versus people pottering around the Greek Islands in the sunshine and simply not bothering to go out when the weather is bad? It's not a ferry, there's no schedule to keep. They have sold a lot of these for a reason... 🙂
@gruntlife03412 ай бұрын
It is very easy to see how they have sold so many so fast.

Cute, but spartan for sure. From the construction, it doesn't look like AC/water-maker/gennie are placeable options. Add'l cold storage in the master could be explored and whats with the port aft bed layout??? It needs rotated 90 degrees. Flush deck vents could have been an easy addition. One plus... gone are the days of wet-heads. They're so 20th century. Shame on the squeek in the master bath. I cannot believe that no one heard that before Nick was welcomed aboard? Thanks for the tour of a sub 40' cat Nick. I'll spend a few more coins for one a bit larger.
