I started a Kwain Deck as a joke and now it's one of my favorite decks. I run the Land Tax + Scroll Rack combo and it's like having an Ancestral Recall each turn. Forbid is a card that can get nasty in the late game.

So much fun. Have you thought of running Psychic Corrosion and Teferi's Tutelage? I also run the pair of Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery to give me more use of the cards I draw on opponents turns.

I have given a lot of thought to corrosion and tutelage, but I’m nervous to go down that route 😂 adding flash does seem very strong. Might have to throw those in!

@CompleatMagic VERY strong. Drawing even 1-5 cards on an opponents turn goes much further with flash.

I'm thinking of making a Kwain deck. I have a Braids deck to fill that group hug feeling with a hidden "mill but not really mill" wincon letting everyone draw 6+ cards a turn, plus Forced Fruition if my clones don't close out the game. This seems more focused on the eventual beatdown which is fun too.

Awesome! This deck is so fun. From my experience, just avoid giving extra lands/mana with group hug. Because that turns into kingmaker real quick.

Thoughts on mind over matter in your Kwain deck? The new lord of the rings card, The One Ring is a redundant combo piece for it too.

Forced Fruition would be a fun inclusion here. Haha. Doesn't synergize with every card, but makes things funny. The ones it does synergize with, though, oh boy. Lol Walking atlas is a pet card for me in draw-heavy off-green decks like this. Poor man's Exploration. Anyway, Thanks for the fun deck tech! 👍

Awesome decktech! Kwain is also my main commander but the theme is mill and I also allow players to draw lots of cards. Anyway, how comfortable are you with 5 counter spells only?

Thanks! I’m pretty comfortable with it. Spend most of the game just giving people cards, slowly building up a board state, drawing a ton. Seems like I always have one or two counterspells in hand by the time I “turn the switch” to trying to win.

I don’t know if your familiar with Naru Meha Master Wizard but 70% of the deck is control theme with Kwai’s but the other 30% percent is me secretly planning the threat with Naru 😂😂😅😅 it’s not fun to play against 😂😂
