For anyone interested, Guzzi is sending me new header pipes to replace mine that the paint is flaking off on. Dealer turned in a claim and Guzzi stepped up to the plate. I get to install them myself because I'm 500 miles round-trip from the dealer. (edit...see my comment below. Guzzi will not send the pipes now)

Don’t take it the wrong way, because it really isn’t a bad take: it’s quite funny to hear such a southern accent lad talk with such love of his cafe racer bike 😂. It’s as if a Québecer like me was making a whole video about his gun collection 😅. Great video. I love my Guzzi as well, same spec but a 2022. As for your slip-ons (we’re quite some time later and I didn’t watch your other videos), what did you end up doing? I went with Zard slip-ons. Absolutely no mods to do once they’re out of the box, no dB killers shenanigans.

My 2021 V7 Stone Centenario also started flaking the paint off the headers. I've had the dealer file a claim with Moto Guzzi, so we are waiting to hear from them. The US Rep said he'd never seen that before, so I'm going to send your video to my dealer. I'm real disappointed in the paint or powder coat on the headers. I have other bikes with black headers and no problem. If Guzzi won't fix it my choices are 1. strip the headers and run bare stainless steel like my Himalayan had (if there's a good way and easy way to strip these), 2. buy chrome headers or complete exhaust from the Speical model, or 3. send the headers away to some company that can Cerakote them. Of course the last two things are expensive. At about 1800 miles my valves were way loose, which is unusual because valves have a tendency to tighten normally, but got them adjusted. Had a 40 year MG mechanic remove the carbon canister and it stopped that stumble I used to get at about 50-55 mph, but it's not the smoothest running bike I've ever owned by a long ways. It really needs better mapping. As far as I know reserve fuel counters always count up to show you miles you've ridden, which supposedly you know how many miles you should have left after checking how much fuel you put in when the light comes on. They can't count down unless they have a fuel gauge. My day-trip (trip odometer D) doesn't always reset itself each day. that's annoying.
@bikerbeliever81693 жыл бұрын
Ive heard from 2 or 3 individuals that the their headers are peeling. So there is something going on in the manufacturing process, or just running way too lean which is still manufacturing, engineering end, Guzzi is responsible for.
@spydie3 жыл бұрын
@@bikerbeliever8169 I hope they don't try to dodge the problem and just step up to the plate and replace them all but with only after they find out what is wrong and know how to fix it. I don't want another set of headers off the same assembly line/paint shop. If these were powder coated and not painted, it should stick better, but whatever method they are using isn't working.

@@bikerbeliever8169 Hey buddy, guess what? I got a call from my dealer today (250 miles from me) and he said Guzzi contacted him and they are sending me new headers. We can only hope they figured out what was wrong and have corrected the problem and don't just another set that the paint flakes off of. The dealer is going to send them to me so I can put them on (and they get paid for the work, but I don't care). Saves me a 500 mile drive.

That's awesome. I got my v7 back, they ran diagnostics and everything to make sure it is running within correct parameters and it was. So they took pics and sent them into Guzzi and let me pick the bike back up so I'm riding it again just waiting to hear from Guzzi. But that's great they sending them to you, shouldn't be hard install at all.

Hi , sorry to hear about valves etc : I had a V7iii and it was stated that the valves were not properly adjusted at the factory , and that they WERE to be adjusted during the pre-delivery by the dealer ! This was debated , but it was in the book and MG forums confirmed it ! I do not know if this is the case with V7/850 ? ? ? My valves were reluctantly done and the figures showed ALL valves had a different setting :-( The dealer here in Australia was not initially interested in THE FACT that it was a pre-delivery MUST DO !!!!!!! Nobody believed it was necessary , but they did it and apologized after the figures were noted 😱 From what I have since learned , the gaps need to be 1/1000th of an inch bigger than factory specs 🤔 I am still looking into this and should/hopefully confirm sooner or not too later !_! I believe the V7/850 is the bike that many of us would like as a keeper, time will...

I've got the same issue with my pipes as well. Not as bad as yours yet but getting there. Once I get it sorted out with the warranty and all that, I am thinking about wrapping them. Mainly because I like that look, but could add some protection as well. I have been running mine with the mistral mufflers and haven't noticed any significant fueling issue since putting them on. I plan on getting dyno tuned next spring so I can run without the Db plugs. I have had a blast riding mine this summer. Sadly I have to put it away now as the weather here in Mi is finally starting to cool down.

Hey Believer, I’m at 2000 miles here in the UK. Worrisome about the pipes, I’m going to watch out for that happening but no signs yet. All good with mine, feels very solid. Slight flat spot at 2500 rpm in sixth but not major. A quirk is the reserve fuel trip countdown goes up and not down...maybe it never runs out of fuel, does yours do that?
@bikerbeliever81693 жыл бұрын
Mine counts up im not sure why that is. I just know that when it comes on I got another 50 to 60 miles to find a station which is good for me. I get 250 plus miles out of every tank easy though around 50 mpg.
@billycaspersghost75283 жыл бұрын
@@bikerbeliever8169 It counts up to tell you how many miles you have done on reserve. It cannot count down since it cannot know about an individuals riding style and consumption. I have the V7 850 for 10 weeks now. Have 3310km on the clock. It makes a lot of fun riding it, but the built quality is very poor. I have several issue. The wing tips of the eagle emblems on the tank come of a bit. The left rear suspension is leaking oil and the mode switch gets stuck when pressed. I am waiting for a repair of all those things for 8 weeks now. Spare parts are not available. Fortunately I can still ride it, but it is pretty annoying when you buy a new bike and have such issues. For me it is sure, that I do not keep that bike over the warranty and it is most likely that I sell it next year and look for something else. Seems that Moto Guzzi is fun to ride, but not fun to own. So all in all I am pretty disappointed and I would not recommend that bike to anyone.
