Aerodynamic drag is a function of frontal area, which in the case of the Z4 is low, and drag coefficient, which for this body style should be low as well. So there is your answer about why this has such good acceleration at high speeds.

did you watch the part where you see its a convertible? its not going to have the same amount of noise insulation. that's the trade off you accept.

Yeah, cabin noise is actually pretty good. I've done a long trip (about 1000km) with it and even at highway speed I could not complain. It is comparable to most of non-covertible non-premium cars.

My dad owns a (stock) Z4 M40i. Great car! Car is missing 2 things: steering feel and a sport+ suspension option to make is more sporty. It’s a share they don’t make a Z4M in my opinion.

I think Toyota decided to make their Supra look like the 2nd gen, therefore making a BMW version redundant. Probably a BMW/Toyota collaboration agreement.

It also shares the suspension setup with the Supra, so it can be easily tuned for a better feel. For now it's setup with a much more squishier suspension feel as it's trying to be a GT. But has the capability to be turned into a sports setup

Very difficult to get good steering feel with electronic steering. It's possible (Porsche 991 GT3) but most cars with good steering feel have either smaller wheels or hydraulic steering.

The g29 z4 is equipped with a ZF8-51 transmission which is rated for up to 500Nm, would be nice to know how the extra load of 110Nm of torque over the designed limit will do to the transmission? I suspect transmission swap will be required at some point?

I had a Z4 M Coupe in the past and it was a nice car! The cabin was bit small and the brakes were not enough even for a couple of hot laps at the track, but I liked it. Now, instead of buying another Z, I bought a SLC 43 AMG and I must say I like it even more! It’s beautiful, more compact, luxurious, fairly strong and the retractable rigid top is like having a Coupe and a Roadster. In fact, I’m driving it more than my 911 Carrera T. But I will do a stg 2 on the SLC 43 AMG and have some fun at the track to see how it goes. Of course, on the handling department and general performance the 911 is a world apart. But let’s see what happens. At the road and the streets I’m loving to cruise and have some spirited driving at the twisties!

How proportional is acceleration increase to power increase Especially when you said 27seconds vs 32 seconds 0 to 250 its 0.84 or stock vs tuned 340 vs 400 is also 85% so stock car have 85% power of tuned one and acceleration reflects same number Very logical

Great reviews, enjoy watching your content from Australia, currently own a M135i Xdrive as my daily which good, but really wanted an M140i however it just looks way too dated inside. Any how I'm surprised that the M140i can achieve a 4.5-4.6 to 100 and the B48 M135 xdrive can do a 4.7-4.8 as tested to 100 and yet all these new versions of the B58 are still in that high 4 with the exception of the 240i xdrive. I just hope that they create a M140i hatchback with that awesome B58, I'm sold....

A nice spec m140i is hardly dated. It's basically the same at the car in the video. You get some awful digital dials in the new one and a similar screen in the middle. M140i is a much much better car than the new M135i. Not even close. I know what I would spend my money on. B58 every day. You made a massive mistake 🤣
