How does the RS3 compare to a CT4-V Blackwing? Base they are low $60k and optioned up $70k. Which one is better to daily drive and do a few track days a year?
@Hbrady222 жыл бұрын
Going off matt's other vids and his podcast, The blackwing is just as dialed in chassis wise, but the blackwing weighs like 400 lbs more. Also, its 400 ish horsepower in the RS3 vs 480 in the blackwing. RS3 sounds better though. Blackwing probably has a little better steering feel than the RS3. The RS3 has better tech and features, and probably just a nicer interior overall. I'd say buy which ever one you like the look of more, or if one has a better warranty than the other. They'll both kill it on the track and be real comfy daily driving.

Depends on whether you really want a manual transmission or not. Only one of those cars has that option.
@TheSmokingTire2 жыл бұрын
It would be a tough call, and ultimately comes down to a) do you want to drive stick? and b) is RWD good for you all year round? If you want a stick car with RWD, blackwing is the tits. If you want the AWD for winter and don't mind driving automatic, i'd rather the RS3.
@Section501K2 жыл бұрын
Winter weather isn't an issue in my state. How will the total cost of ownership compare (maintenance, parts, resale, ect)? I'm coming from a F80 M3 manual and Type R. A base RS3 at $60K leaves $10k for a cheap track car but you loose the manual trans in the RS3.
@danielgladston17852 жыл бұрын
@@Section501K that's pretty funny. I drive an M2 right now and also had a Type R. I know I'm not Matt, but I work for a dealer group with both Cadillac and Audi stores. I can tell you that the Caddy will cost less in maintenance in the long run. Expensive maintenance is just the nature of German makes. But ttrs is based on 7 gen golf,new rs3 is based on 8 gen golf
@DarthChewie2 жыл бұрын
The TT-RS is slightly down on torque being from the previous generation. The TT-RS and previous gen RS3 had 354lb-ft vs 369lb-ft in this new RS3. Also, dynamically, the new RS3 should be substantially improved over the TT-RS given that this has the new rear differential, whereas both previous cars (RS3 and TT-RS) were just open-diffs.

Yeah TTRS might be faster in a drag race but on track i belive this new RS3 would take the cake
@RCXDerp2 жыл бұрын
Tt might be faster by one tenth to 60

Hey Matt, the 3.6 0-60 is thar according to Audi or your own measurements? Also did you notice any signs of heat soak in the desert? I'd ask about brake fade but you weren't really hard on them.
@mrglobul122 жыл бұрын
Audi claims 3.6 on their website, most independent tests all achieved 3.29 - 3.5. Like many RS cars, Audi underestimated or under-quoted the numbers

Dealerships in California are asking up to $20k over msrp for these. I like them and would honestly get one. But $85k for one is bananas.

I think I'd skip the dynamic pack and just upgrade to PS4S or PS5S (when released) when the P-Zeroes are worn. I would do some track days here and there but not enough to warrant the ceramics and I prefer a stronger bite at the top of the pedal.
