Hi! I'm making a small motorhome setup, and I bought a step up like this to use my laptop without a inverter. My laptop has a 19V, - 7,89A adaptor. So to switch the amperage in the step up trimpot I guess I will need to try with another charge (like a light bulb), and after having it right then I can stick my laptop on it. Am I right? Or could I do the amperage trimpot thing - having the right tension already of course - direct with the laptop on it? tnx for your video?

As you have seen in the video the power supply was 12 volts and 16,5 Amps and was connected straight to the device. So in this device you have to do nothing. You can give me more information to see if your device needs anything. Thank you!

Hello i am back so i tried the device to answe your question i wanted to be.100/100 sure so i connect my power supply and i supply the device with 12volts and 1 Ampere and from the other side i connect 2 car headlights of 12 volts in series so i increase the device to give 24 volts and i open all the way rhe potentiometer for the current to its maximum and i got 24 volts and 1 Ampere! In the video the power supply was 12 volts 16 Amperes so it had the power to give 384 watts but here has not. For anything you want to ask i remain! Regards!

Hello! That's a good way to be autonomous in energy! The 60 watts in 12 volts means 5 Amps that's a lot of current ! The 18650 is very powerful battery but it' will be overheated giving more than 2 Amps continuously so i think you need a bms 3s for 3 sets in parallel ! 3x4,2 volts so it will be safer for the whole. The bms will make sure that the batteries will not overheated and they will be charged and discharged without problems they will be balanced in their voltage all the time! If you do this i am sure that this system will be work without problems! Thank you!

I'm plugging the StepUp into my car's lighter and charging my notebook... but what I've analyzed is that it can't support the necessary current... the notebook's power supply is 19.5V and 180W. I can only make the stepup provide the necessary power when I put above 17v at the input. the current tripot doesn't seem to work

Well your car's lighter has a fuse of 10 Amps so 180 W/19,5v=9,23Amps it's ok but i am sure that for charging a notebook the maximum amperage should be at 2 Amps!You can verify it with a Ammeter. To have an idea a car's battery is charging with about 5 Amps! 10 Amps is a lot of current! For the device i have two of them the one i am using in the video works perfectly the other as you said had the same problem but i noticed that the out capacitor was loose and i resolder it and now its ok! For the voltage with the pot you can regulate to give exactly 19,5 volts! 17 volts seems to be ok (4 x 4,2=16,8 volts) but i am not sure if that voltage will charge it 100% you have to check it (maybe in the notebook there is a stabilizer which receiver 19,5 volts and regulates it). At first look it cannot give 30x15=450watts as rhe maximum output is 400 watts. In video we see that it increases the voltage and that is amazing about this device with the same Amps withdrawing. The device i use in the video gives 12 volts and 16,5 Amps but theoretically because if we increase current very quickly it will be shut down due to safety design of the circuit as an amplifier who needs big power at a millisecond to express the music needs is not recommended. So i am afraid i cannot help you because only if you put a stress test to the power supply in the ( real world) you are sure that is capable to respond to your needs. Thank you! I remain!

I checked again and i found that in the end of the pot turning is a little bit hard to stabilize! Maybe a different value pot or if we put in series another pot may fix rhe problem! Thank you!

What you did here is not relevant. You had the pot for the current set to a certain value and thus, the voltage under load was not the voltage set by you. Hence the same current at the input and output.

I am sure that there are many ways to make that presentation of the product here i emphasized on efficiency that surprised me was that 24 volts x 2,42 Amperes 58 Watts were achieved from 12 volts 2,42A totaling 29,04 Watts. Also i had the choice to put more load as the device withstands 400 Watts. Thank you for the suggestion that will help me to be better in future presentations!
