Brilliant idea. if you are a collector, you will not want to do this. if you are a farmer, there is no downside, especially if you live in the northern states where cold starts can be a major issue with the original engine. Improved torque I would think would also change this tractor into something that could actually pull hard without dumping fuel or putting big abusive turbos on it. More power that starts easier with less fuel consumption. It makes sense for a tractor that is still put to work.

Not cummins engines, cummins runs the injection pump on the left side of the engine, those look like 466 deere's, hence the pump of the right side.

That is a 7.6 Waterloo jd motor, , it then became one of my all time favourite motors the 8.1 jd,,,, I used them in the jd 7810 in UK,, absolutely fucking wonderful machine

Your idea is good but when you put a Cummins diesel in a 4020 you no longer have a true 4020. Hopefully some aftermarket company can manufacture original 4020 and other original engines of other makes and models.

They used Cummins in their 4wds 20 yrs ago, and before that as a kinze repower in the 86 series.
