Something to add. My desktop shortcuts (for both DCSW 1.5.4 and the 2.0 Alpha) pointed towards Run.exe in the DCS main folder. The --force_disable_VR method doesn't seem to work if your shortcut points towards this exe. The shortcut has to point towards the DCS.exe found in the 'bin' sub folder.

You can also just unplug the usb connector for your headset. But your tip is easier, thanks !

I have just started working on my own missions in Mission editor---so this is a BIG help. I also wonder about the settings for pixel density---is there a suggestion for that? Of course anything that can tighten up the resolution will help a lot. I love my Rift---could not imagine playing another flight based sim again without it, but after a few hours---my eyes are straining pretty hard. Love the videos--been a lot of help to me thanks!

very easy in steam ... just right click dcs in your game library list and select 'run in non vr mode' (or something like that). But I also really this shortcut idea ... would be nice to run straight from desktop.
