First night out with the new combo. 11.5 to 1 solid rolller 408 windsor, tuned with a quarterhorse chip on stock computer. Car has a T56 tranny, with all road race suspension so it did not 60 foot very well with the 28x9s.

@3cRider Thanks! It's actually a Ford Racing T56. The ratios are 1st 2.97, 2nd 2.07, 3rd 1.43, 4th 1.00, 5th .80, 6th .62 I prefer the ratios on this one because of exactly what you said. The shift from 4th to 5th is too much of a difference on most trannies, but on this it's amazing and the car is right back in the powerband with the .80 5th. Hope this helps!

my god, even with road race suspension that thing leaves so damn hard !

How many street miles does it see on the solid cam? What lifters you running? I was thinking of going solid on my stang but I get stuck in traffic every once and a while so I'm concerned about longevity.

What is your base timing with pump gas? and what does it idle at? Mine seems to like less than 10* base timing. If I go to 10 it wants to idle at 1400 rpm's or more.

@rckash995 I never ended up running the car on the spray which was a bit of a disappointment. I had a carbeurated plate setup on an EFI fuel system which llead to to trouble figuring out which jets to start out with. I didn't exactly feel like playing a trial and error game at the time.

@bbsombs the car was never dynoed, but I figure it was making around 530-550ish given the trap speed and weight of the car.

Can you run pump gas with this engine? I have a 393 going in my notch that should be around 11.4 to 1 compression. The cam is a Comp cam XR292R, .621 intake, .627 exhaust, duration is 254 int. 260 exh. lobe sep. 110 deg. centerline 106 deg. Its a solid roller

Nice man, significant improvement over the previous 408 setup. Good looking car man, if you still have the Saleen wheels I'm interested.

@fastblknotch Hey, yes I had no problem running 94 octane in this engine. Your combo sounds almost identical to mine so I would imagine yours would be OK as well!

Love the video. I too have a 408 windsor that I am building. Compression calculator puts it at an estimated 12.5:1 ratio. .582 cam with 299/300 duration and AFR heads. Hoping to make similar power to your set up... The compression is high due to the Eagle competition rotating assembly having +5.00 pistons and my AFR's are 58CC. Engine is designed to make power till 6,600 RPM. What RPM's are you turning?

What T56 setup are you running, do you know the ratios off hand? I'm thinking about adding a T56 to myFox Body coupe and want more of a road-race style trans with tighter gear ratios. I'm ok with a steep first since I won't be dragging it much, I just want the gears to be stacked to help keep my Paxton charged 331 up in the powerband once rolling. BTW, nice Coupe!
