The front cross member on an MGB is a separate assembly from the body. John Twist shows how to disassemble, identify, and replace the many components of a front suspension system.

Thanks John. I fitted the Frontline castor correction wedges and I really liked the improvement they made to my 67 B with minimal adjustment needed on the steering rack. Well worth it.

I bought caster shims from Moss as I have huge steering force likely caused from a wider rim and radials. After installation, I drove it a quarter mile and came home and pulled them back out. I found them to be around twice the needed correction. I adjusted the column each time I reinstalled the fully rebuilt suspension. The shims are so thick as to leave an insufficient number of threads. The supplied nuts looks great but the threads were cut far to sloppy to use. Aftermarket shims - just say no!

Is the front crossmember meant to be symmetric left to right? Doesn't look like mine is, though a bit hard to tell

Modern rubber is crap and fails quickly, the urethane is a good idea.

Any idea on what might make the front driver side wheel lean into the car? To be clear the top of the tire leans inward towards the engine. 79 Midget.

Dropping a string down to pull up the bolt will make it easier.

No details like what to tighten first or to what torque?
