I see that you have appeased the machine spirit well enough But arch you have not told us how a warp engine works, what fuel it uses and many other minor and major rambling trivia around them as usual
@93Avenger935 жыл бұрын
Afaik 40k doesn’t have some specialized unique fuel for all ships, and warp engines do not use fuel at all. Or to put it another way: the warp engine draws power from the ship’s generator to tear a rift from reality to the immaterium, then the ship crosses that rift and it collapses. Once inside, it’s almost like sailing in the age of sail mixed with propulsion from the real space engines inside the geller field, using the tides of the warp and the currents of the immaterium to propel the ship through the sea of souls towards it’s destination where it will rip another hole out of the warp and into reality. You can’t exactly have engines in the traditional sense for inside the warp because ... well traditional physics no longer exists once inside. In that sense, the fuel is the navigator’s skill to guide and perhaps shape the warp currents around the little bubble of reality the ship sits in.

Gellerpox video follow up? Papa Nurgle got a bit tired of all his little creations not being able to get a suitable meal it seems. Also, I wonder how many captains and merchants use real space travel because they consider the warp to be too dangerous. That would make for some interesting stories. I can just imagine someone conscripted from the crew of such a vessel being placed on an Imperial troop transport and volunteering to “guard” the most heavily armored sections of the ship.

I find that a more apt metaphor is... Well.... Remember that time comissar Ciaphas Cain, the luckiest son of a bitch in the entire Imperium survived a starship crash into a planet? That's what happens when the Gellar fields flicker. And that was when they were LEAVING the Warp.

Wasn't that a cut-scene from Inquisitor - Martyr at the start of this? (after the intro) | 4:43 - Some believe that Event Horizon is a prequel to Warhammer 40K, set long before the Human Federation. | 7:45 - So, are you suggesting that dictators and wannabe dictators warp entities?... | 9:52 - It's another reason why Event Horizon is seen by some as as 40K prequel, due to that ship lacking that protective measure and what happened to it. | 10:00 - You've covered that briefly in the Abhuman lore video. | 10:50 - Reminds me of the Fall of Cadia mission in Battlefleet Gothic Armada II, Saint Celestine did that. | 16:17 - Powered by thousands of psykers being devoured by him. | 18:05 - You'll probably cover those eventually...Wuld Killa, Judgement of Carrion (Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising) and Gorkamorka being some of them.

Kind of like the movie Event Horizon, where the FTL drive essentially took a ship through a hell dimension to get to A from B.

I am sorry, but there is a thing that I didn´t quite understood. ar the Geller fields a forcefield, that keeps the warp at bay? or is it merely there to mask the Psi signatures of the crew aboard? or, does it do both? at the beginning of teh video it soundet like the geller field just mask the psi signature and the normal forcefield takes care of the rest. but in the later section, it sounds that the Geller field does all of that itself.
@Rahul_G.G.5 жыл бұрын
it is basically a part of our universe which brought into the warp so it shields the crews emotions and prevent demons from entering it because they cant enter the real world, of course if for some reason a warp rift can technically open inside a perfectly fine Geller field, it is mostly a force field but it also numbs the emotion presented to the warp by having the crew inside the real world
@DerAnanasKing5 жыл бұрын
@@Rahul_G.G. ah, so it does both. thanks for clarifying.

Best description of the warp I've ever heard: "Every single thought or feeling you have ever had both consciously and subconsciously, becomes reality in the Warp. Every single human emotion becomes a power. Every single metaphor becomes a literal meaning. Everyone's wishes, dreams, desires, fears and nightmares are incarnated. Of course the reason the warp is so corrosive and horrifying is because so many conflicting and contradicting ideas are floating around inside of it. And the "Gods" are in fact, collective subconscious constructs that reflect crucial mental aspects of ALL life. Deamons are shards of their respective gods, much like individual cells make up an organism." Magnus the red from If the Emperor had a text to speech device episode 19: warp grumblings

The Enderverse (Ender's Game) has space travel that takes into account relativistic effects so that a few weeks pass on board ship while decades pass for the rest of the universe. The social and emotional effects of this are explored in some depth.

Lol I wonder if you can go into the warp and actually get the minor chance of going back to the time before the emperor's death
@CedarHunt5 жыл бұрын
Wow, there is a lot to process in all this. 1) I wonder if the human federation during the dark age of technology had a superior version of FTL since they wouldn't have had either the beacon of big E or navigators to make the journey. 2) The concepts surrounding the time dilation effects seem really underutilized in the lore, where are the books for a crusader era astartes fleet entering the warp before the heresy and coming out 10 thousand years later to find out that the Imperium they have dedicated their lives to has decayed into a monstrous parody of the emperors vision? Or a story about a ship of reinforcements arriving to a doomed world before the war has broken out which leads to a scramble to find a way to prevent its destruction. I'd read both of those.
@Sorain14 жыл бұрын
The old human federation existed during a period where the warp was burned out, hung over, sleepy and quiet. (Because the last major event was the War In Heaven and the Eldar Gods were keeping things quiet.) It was things picking back up with Slanneish that proceeded to screw it all up for them. Even then, they had far superior real space drives so their shorter 'hops' were easier. Also they had Navigators, developed the gene type themselves from what I hear. The Emperor may or may not have been involved in that.
@le_floofy_sniper_ducko4 жыл бұрын
also that Warp Drive as you describe it reminds me of the Halo Series's Shaw-Fujikawa Trans-Light Engine using Slipstream also early Human-Covenant War Human FTL could be described as ripping a hole into the slipsteam and the Covenant FTL could be described as a finely sharpened blade cleanly cutting in it open
@Connor.SG-1Ring3 жыл бұрын
I too find them similar. Ships in Halo also generate a protective bubble when travelling through slipspace, which sounds kinda similar to gellar field. Slipspace appears similar to what the Warp had been before it became corrupted.

So how does warp travel work with a Blank onboard?
@Reddotzebra5 жыл бұрын
That depends on the power level of the Blank and how far away you keep them from the navigator. I imagine the interference would be something like trying to fly a cargo plane filled with nitroglycerin and scorpions while someone is jumping up and down in front of your face.
