Pretty much. That and Gork n' Mork probably consider Yarrick a 'Ooman grod' (literally translated from 2nd edition Orkish: "Human Best Friend/Favorite Enemy") to all Orks, *especially Ghazghkull*. So not only is the old Commissar blessed by the protection of the Emperor, he's also supported by (probably) two of the oldest, strongest gods inside the Warp *AND* the reality-fuckery that is the WAAAAAAAGH! field. Yarrick also likes to play up the greenskin's legends about him for full effect. Case in point: Orks start whispering that Ol' One Eye Yarrick can kill with a glance. Yarrick hears about this rumor and has his bionic eye turned into a bionic eye that can fire A FUCKING LASER BEAM. Seriously though, as of the current lore Yarrick and Ghazzy probably have the best 'frenemy rivalry/grudge match' going in the galaxy. The primarchs' sibling bitchfest has *nothing* on what those two have done to each other. I'll go into more detail a little later after I'm done watching the video.

The crane operators welding themselves into their machines to fight ork gargants in hand to hand always gets me for some reason. i read that in a white dwarf back when the armegeddon event was going on. got me back then too. something about the fanatical determination to make the enemy pay despite the certainty of their own deaths. there was another description in white dwarf that discussed crazy hive gangers full of drums sent into ventilation ducts to fight ork commandos in hand to hand that was also pretty awesome.

The port siege description made me badly want a warhammer FPS horde/co-op assault game based in a hive city. Basically a good version of space hulk deathwing (warframe/the-division with a less ninja movement or infinite stat scaling) on a much grander scale of map with a persistent player inventory that can be lost through death.

I mean a 40K vermintide/L4D2 where each map is semi-randomly picked from a suite of eventually hundreds (area gameplay/cohesion more important than incidental details) that form a mostly cohesive area/city to fight through in a chain of 2-5 maps that make up a mission (turn on the defensive turrets, fight through to the safe-zone and break an ork siege, gather supplies and return to base with the laden vehicle). Players craft and gather resources Warframe/firefall (during the thumper era) style to craft modular "throwaway" weapons you loose if you fail a mission (unless you can get to a safe/beacon and store some of your gear before you die). let players find a few salvageable components and weapons/mods in-mission. If you loose or win incidental details around that area will dynamically update to a more or less intact/protected state (80% cosmetic but with some routes, doors, walkways, defences, buildings and resources available depending on win/loss ratios each week).

The entire thing has been done before and other games already do this with different themes in mind e.g.1(warframe , space ninjas rampaging through procedural tile-set locations instead of guard companies facing down numerous enemies over a 2-5 level mission-chain). e.g.2 (destiny/borderlands, sci-fi space-tards fighting through a mix of instances and overland areas to kill a boss to get tokens and/or RNG loot drops in order to take on more bullet-sponge enemies) e.g.3 (vermintide/L4D/space hulk:deathwing, horde mode gameplay through a small number of heavily detailed levels, replay value comes from loot/PvP/suicidal-disappointment respectively) e.g.4 (global agenda/firefall, broken messes of a game that were about harvesting resources, fighting off other players/AI-swarms to control tracts of lands rich in resources, to build more gear. End results were generally weak due to stat based PvP items and drastic changes in gameplay direction) It's all doable with current tech but no one has fitted the pieces together in this way yet, let alone with a well produced 40k theme. Resident evil 5 and revelations (some fan gameplay-reactions aside) did something similar to this idea in a single-player setting.

As with warframe, devs could start small with a procedural-tileset system 1-2 factions and a basic set of player gear then add in more over-time. Over time refine the more procedural maps into a skirmish mode while building up linked-3D grid-based campaign city/station/rok maps. Start with a 3 x 3 grid of maps, maybe add in a couple of tower/sewer/air/sea port areas, boost the grid/map piece by piece (e.g. start with a city wall-tower section plus nearby suburb buildings, add in the wall-gate plus the access bridge, add in more city plus some sewer access, add in farmland, add a transport hub to the area, etc), each new level allow 1-2 entrances from each direction to link into the another map (even if it's a trainline/out-flow pipe/bombed out wall). Save time by wholesale copying existing/realistic architecture (shopping centres, car parks, offices, castles, ports, train stations) layouts into the chosen theme then create gameplay paths through them by blocking off/destroying certain entrances and floors to allow one map to have 5-6 varied play-routes. That said I think I need to go cry in a corner while curled up for a while. Laters.

The art is absolutely amazing! As a Patron I must say, I have spent my money well! I absolutely love the art for the Hive of Asheron! Those three guys(Imperial Guard, Gangmember and Civilian) looked super awesome together! Also, hearing the lore of the video, the defense of Hive Hellsreach reminds me a lot of the Battle at Shipka Pass. Very touching to me on a personal level.
