Hello friends I have a video for you today - Its a brief overview of the newly announced returning Necron Illuminor Szeras and Necron Pariah. We discovered a while ago that the next Psychic Awakening book would be titled PARIAH, and so it seems a reasonable assumption that Necron Pariahs will be returning to 40K in the near future. Especially considering the fragments of lore that exist involving Szeras. It would honestly just be weird for GW to have chosen to name this book Pariah and not bring them back? But then again… take no possibilities off the table yet. Trailer is here - thanks for supporting me and watching as always: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHOsnXqCeauFiLs

Luetin, I’m thrilled you’ve taken a look at Necrons in the modern age. Their role is perhaps one of one my largest knowledge gaps in 40K and you have become my favourite and almost ‘only’ source of 40K knowledge. Unless it’s in one of your videos it’s not worth knowing. So please, throw more our way! When did the Necron wake? When did humanity notice? What are black stone pillars? I don’t know the answer to any of these things. Can’t wait to find out.
@powerflumi4 жыл бұрын
The "Imperium" knew of the Necrons existence since about the great crusade era. Infact the supreme ruler of the Necrons the Silent King Szarekh claims to have personally known and spoken to Sanguinius himself. The problem with establishing when humanity had its first contact is that we know nothing about the golden ages and with that we know not if it was during that time. And less so during the age of the Imperium as the Inquisition and the high lords for the longest times hid the existence of the Necrons. As even till late m41 their existence wasnt common knowledge even to the Guard or the Astartes.
@deanprowell79474 жыл бұрын
I can try to answer some of these simply, if Leutin wants to go more in depth. 1. The Necrons woke at several different times. Most woke near the beginning of M41. Some, like the Sautekh Dynasty, barely went to sleep at all. 2. Humanity could have noticed during the DAoT, or during the Great Crusade. We don't know. 3. Black Stone Pillars likely refers to Necron Pylon networks. The Necrons don't like the Warp much, so they built pylons meant to contain warp storms and rifts like the Eye of Terror.
@Orannis014 жыл бұрын
@@deanprowell7947 Also the Silent King never slept, and traveled around looking for a way to restore his people back to organic bodies. He could have met humanity at any time during this.

I was glad to hear you mention that some fans love the "chaotic nature" of 40k and it's lore. I have been playing 40k and Fantasy since 1993 and have seen so many changes and contradictions, but overall have no complaints. Personally, I feel a reason could be some unknown, insanely powerful old one with galactic scale psker powers or even some mysterious Chaos God that (you could insert any reason here) was maybe having a psychological breakdown, only being concious for brief periods every few hundreds of years or even having a seizure, silly as it sounds, and these brief episodes cause changes on a galactic scale. Just like magic in the FATE anime series, the 40k lore gives a huge amount of freedom and opens up many possibilities more rigid structure wouldn't allow.

After all if the Necrons have gradually shifted from being mindless undead to sentient beings with there own goals and ambitions, and a core part of traditional fantasy 'undead' is raising your fallen comrades as mindless thralls, then letting Necrons do the biotransference on any race they come across to make half Necron horrors could be cool. Perhaps as a new plan to bolster there numbers after loosing so many of there own during there sleep, only to find a galaxy teeming with enemies.

So essentially, it's a giant arms race. The Old Ones made Eldar and other Warp sensitive Ppsycher emergent species - of note the Aeldar - in order to use them as weapons against the Necron - ironically destroying themselves in the process with Enslaver Plagues. And in response the Necrons either created or harvested blanks and nulls into use as Pariahs to counter-act the these Warp Sensitives and Psykers to essentially destabilize their enemies. So are the Necrons senstive or damaged by Warp energy or powers? Wouldn't that make them nulls? If they are affected by Psychic power of the Eldar, does that mean they are Warp Sensitive? Can Nulls be affected by the Warp or Psycher attacks? The conclusion is that Necrons are nulls, like the Tau. They can't be Blanks, because they are still weak to the Eldar, but they can't be Warp Sensitve or the Blanks they utilize as pariahs would negatively affect them.

Seems pretty obvious that in the early days GW just didn't have much of an over-arching plan. Then they moved into a business model of constant rewrites designed to force players to rebuild existing armies and buy new codices/army books. As such, they deliberately canonizing anything that might limit their ability to restructure in the next edition. Which is simply to say that consistency in lore is a pipe dream because it goes directly against the business model. I enjoy the lore more than most of the models, and far more than the limiting and overly-simplistic game rules (which are seemingly designed for very different age groups), but if you're pedantic about canonized lore, this is not for you.

Hi, I don't know if you've already done any video aboit 40K videogames but I am very interested on it. Maybe if you haven't done any video like that you could do one mentioning some worth-playing ones, and great video btw. Thanks

I actually do love the clouded, uncertain history and information scatter. It makes perfect sense within the context of the verse. How could anyone *expect* a solid narrative within this crazy, war-broken verse? Oh, you wanted to know what happened on that planet? WELL, TOO BAD, WE BLEW IT UP.

You should do a video on the ranks classes and types offices and titles held of the imperium I find myself reading the Horace heresy and sometimes not knowing what people are or where they stand. Or if anyone knows of a breakdown video that would be awesome.

I think they should update their background to Szeras finding a way to make them without gathering captives. Like they so rare that in the entirety of the necron territory the numbers would be so small as to not really be useful. Now if he took those captives and cloned them or figured out how they cause a null field maybe he could create them in greater numbers.
