@@pyerack dunno about that, tbh. I think it is more about eldar being so advanced (AND far up their own asses) they have no problems with concepts humans can't possibly wrap their heads around, and I mean not just this story, but pretty much any piece of lore regarding eldar race. Hypocrisy, however, is not entirely out of question. And then there's also the issue of creating consistent world that is different from the actual reality while also being drastically different with regards to "physics" of it all. Good story anyway though.

@nekrataali4 жыл бұрын
The torturing thing is a result of them being so desensitized. Remember, Eldar have been immortal for most of their existence, having previously lived in the span of millions of years. 10,000 years is like a few seconds of a lifetime for us. The Fall is something rather recent. Dark Eldar sadism runs so deep, it's like eating breakfast for them. Just because you've had hundreds of breakfasts yourself doesn't mean you're gonna stop liking waffles and doughnuts.

A great story from the 3rd edition era IIRC, stories like this got me into the Dark Eldar and 40k in general. They changed the lore after this point after the 2010 revamp of the army, the original story was that the Dark Eldar migrated into the webway and founded Commoragh after the fall; now they have made it so Commoragh already existed as a hub for scum and villainy where the worst excesses of the old Eldar could take place, and then those denizens evolved into the Dark Eldar, with Vect coming to prominence later.

Their entire Thing is understanding their technology 100% and not having to use psychic powers to it as well as having auxiliary, but their command over the Warp is incredibly poor with FTL that seems to be stuck somewhere on the level of pre-DaoT ships due to lacking Navigators. Assuming Blackstone can still be created (which is HIGHLY doubtful since it's probably C'Tan or Old One mojo) they could likely lend production capacity but you'd have to track down whichever Cryptek has a mind not fried by a combination of Biotransferrence Great Sleep and excessive resurrections and who is ALSO willing to accept the Silent King's commands and ALSO wants to share those secrets with a race whose history is shorter than present-day humanity's. Honestly, depending on what Pylons do to the WAAAGH!! you might in fact find that the Orks are more useful and amenable to such an arrangement since Chaos corruption is intrinsically un-orky. Hell, I'd give the Jokaero a higher chance of possible contribution.

they at least got their philosophy right. id say the average dark eldar is happier than the average human
@vladdrakul78514 жыл бұрын
Yeah but there are others. Sorry both chaos and certain religious crazy humans and Inquisition are essentially the same if less purely so. ie live for the suffering of others. What one can say is that they are the least forgivable as this story shows. The missing part should have been the prisoner telling Vek that it is he and those who feel like him who created Slaanesh via the very attitude he stands for. That the Eldar destroyed themselves and that Vek is thus a coward in denying reality and guilty of all that went wrong. It is not as though any answer would have stopped the torture. Indeed perhaps Vek would have respected him for his hopeless courage and insight though I doubt it!

@somexp123 ай бұрын
Drukhari were doing it because wanted to well before they had to. And they don't necessarily even have to because other Eldar have found other solutions.
@cjthebeesknees24 күн бұрын
Drukhari brought there lot upon themselves and when reality birthed a horror they responded by fleeing to the webway and doubling down in their darkness and contemptuous arrogance. Now they’re vampiric mon-keigh sustaining themselves off “lesser races” life essence like a plague.
@jamesrachez45164 жыл бұрын
I always thought it would be interesting to have a story about a human near null (or just a very weak soul) sociopath getting taken to Commorragh and since he wouldn't be good as food he'd end up as a fun pet Mon Keigh either for deceiving the other human captives or as a tool in the gang wars. I'm sure the Dark Eldar would find it hilarious to have their rivals killed by a Mon Keigh. Bonus points if he's an administratum equivalent of a lawyer.

@Cure4Living why is it that people always go for poverty as the first "blight" of a society in ruination? Poverty is what made our society...as you have to be innovative to get out of it, only a few do. Therefore, once all have wealth (and the rise of the merchant class (now called middle classes) gave way to this) people become bored, depressed and lazy. Hence, they become poor and into poverty once again a few generations on until (once again) innovation is alight upon once more. Now, the real reason KP are "bad" is they are oppressive, regressive (with no or little free thought or will) and do not allow any interaction to the known world. To us, this is "bad" and therefore we say in our society that they are worse off than ourselves. Poverty, starvation and slave camps are mere fickle attempts for them to hold their power. It is not the reason why they are "bad".

As always, I love your informative script accompanied by intermittent storytelling excerpts about the subject of each video. If I might make a suggestion for future videos however, it would be to include closeups of some painted models, perhaps by siege or other such group. When I painted my friends warhammer for money I really enjoyed the details I applied myself and it would be most fascinating to see what others likewise have done. Thanks
