Great video and as someone looking at getting into another army this year. Dont want to be that guy but letting you know. Check your chapter headings as for the Cons section it is saying Cons to Death Guard

My brain auto corrected the Exalted Sorcerer to Exalted Sorcerer on disc because I don't use any regular exalted sorcerer on foot elsewhere in the list. For 500 pts you run the guy on disc as a guy on foot even though he will be on disc model wise. If you run him as exalted sorcerer on foot its 500 pts on the nose.

@SuperNova-nl5eb not sure what you mean by the other. When I started my tsons I ran 4x5 to a gt with a rubric marine with a bolter leading a flamer unit and noted the bolted guy was the sorcerer and had no issues. Otherwise you have tons of bits from the exalted sorcerer box that can be used

The tzaangors are the big problem. But also Scarab Occult Terminators (as much as I love them) aren't a go to unit for Tsons right now. The combat patrol also not having a leader that can go with either tzangors OR Terminators means that its awkward to fit in anywhere. Tzaangors on their own are fine, but they just don't fit what the army wants to do right now. If you want cheap bodies that can hold objectives or do secondaries there are just better options.

To throw in my two cents, I think it's okay if you like the models from a visual standpoint, they're just not optimal as of now. The box does often go on discount because people don't buy it, so I think if you can get it for roughly the same price as 5 Terminators and an Infernal Master, that's pretty good.

as much as I love the TS (my main 30k army), their 40k roster is just... sad I guess. Personaly I am not a fan of any goats in their list and having "just" Rubrics and Scarabs as astartes infantry is just so sad. I wish they would have TS havocs, raptors, generic CSM units really. Magnus did nothing wrong.. Ahriman did everything wrong for the right reasons!

I know what you mean. I would love to see more variety in the Tsons lists but the internal balance of the codex is just way too off with how important maxing cabal points is with how expensive all of the units inside of the index are. I would love it if the rules were a little less good so the army could come down in points by like 30%. Ahriman is my favorite lore character for that exact reason. Everything goes wrong for him when he tries to do good, and when he acts like a selfish prick everything goes his way.

I put your 500 pt list in the wh40k app and got 515 pt not 500. It is possible to have 500 pt but the Exalted Sorcerer needs to get rid off the disc.

Thank you so much for making this video, I really needed some sort of guidance on what to get for my tsons army. Since you're a tsons player I wanted to ask some questions I have about the tsons and their list building. The first question I have is, is there a limit on what weapon a squad of rubrics can use, for example can there be a 10 man squad that all carry wapflames or is there a limit? And another question I have is can a rubric with an icon of flame also carry a soul reaper canon? Thank you again for the video and I'm sorry that I ask such questions.

Don't apologize, feed the glorious chaos God that is the KZbin algorithm! You can run 10x warp flamers if you like. You could run 10x inferno boltgun. You van run 7 of one 3 of the othern doesn't matter. The only thing is you can only have 1 aspiring sorcerer and 1 soul reaper cannon. The icon of flame isn't anything that stops you from equipping other wargear, so you can have it on whatever model you want. In general I always run a soul reaper automation in my rubrics, UNLESS it's ahriman with flamer rubrics. Then I will run them as a 9 flamers

Is the first 2000 point list still legal? I want to make sure, because in battle scribe, and the warhammer app it says it would be around 1840. What change should I add to get it to where it needs to be?

It is not still legal because you cannot run a changling without having a unit of Tzeench battle line units. You could run a unit of pink horrors and have it be around 1980 pts. you can also cut the changling entirely and then run some more rubrics and infernal masters or a mutilith vortex beast.

So it is pretty much Herohammer, like in 2nd edition? No melee units? No fast attack? No tanks? Sound kinda boring if you are not a fan of Herohammer.

Our melee is okay, but its lackluster compared to our amazing shooting. I have definitely killed things in melee that I didn't think I would. "Fast Attack" is dead, but we also have mid game redeploy and all of our units can double (or even triple) move. I have shoved magnus 42" in one turn before without advancing. That's pretty dang fast. Mutalith Vortex Beasts for better or worse are our "tanks". The problem is we want cabal points and tanks don't generate cabal points (and you don't generate them from inside Rhinos) But you are correct. This army is herohammer. It is likely an army that will always be hero hammer by nature of how Tsons have played in the past few editions and exist in the lore.

I entered the first 2000 point army on battleforge and it complained that I needed a Tzeentch battle line unit when I added the Changeling. Is this a strict tabletop rule, or a glitch with battleforge?

It is a strict rule that was added as changleling + blue scribes were too strong. For every non battle line demon ally you want to add you need to include a battle line demon unit from the same god.

Helbrutes have their place as extra cabal point generation but I don't love them. Given that you need enough cabal points to cast the ritual in the first place they often wind up only being +1, maybe +2 cabal points. You can get the same thing from multiple characters who are less expensive. He's totally fine to run for funsies. You can 100% win with him in your list

@dimentiox80sshenanigans50 if he is not near multiple sorcers, you are not getting value out of him. You really need him to be near 3+ casts to get value out of him for his points, so being near a lord of forbidden lore double blanking saves is a good cheap way to keep it going

Magnus is a massive amount of points from that battleforce box. Magnus is not overkill for 1k, but he might be hard for opponents to deal with. If you wanted a list without him, I would do something like 1x Ahriman on foot 1x Sorcerer w/ Umbralific Crystal 1x Sorcerer w/ Anathean Scrolls 1x Exalted Sorcerer on Disc (not leading a unit) 1x10 Flamer Rubrics 2x5 Flamer Rubrics 1x5 Bolter Rubrics. You'll need to buy one more box of rubrics for it, but you'll likely want that many in a list anyways.

Hi i am new to warhammer so i was looking for an army to start at 500 points to play with some friends, but the 500 point army in this video comes out to 515 points when i use the battle forge app. 1×Exalted sorcerer=115 2 ×thousand sorcerer=190 2 xrubric marine squad=210 Total=515 I am probably doing some math wrong or using equipment incorrectly but i just wanted to make sure the 500 is still valid.

Yea I say exalted sorcerer in disc because I flubbed my dialogue. I was planning ahead with the exalted sorcerer being built as an exalted sorcerer on disc because that is how he will be ran at future point values
