Putting aside that Sanguinius answer of his, my headcanon for this meeting is that Konrad, having one of the highest psychic potentials of the Primarchs, may have unintentionally projected a kind of psychic echo of his essence into the warp at the moment of his death. This is not the same as a true soul, but still carries much of what the primarch was as he died. Due to his legion’s exposure to Chaos, this echo might attract the attention of daemons, who would fight over it and splinter it into countless shards, each of which would then consume a daemon to a greater or lesser extent. Then, once the Ordo Theoreticus finds out about this phenomena (through their connections in the Plutonians), they arrange to have a daemon host be possessed by one of these Curze-demons specifically, to come as close as possible to interrogate the long-dead primarch of the dreaded VIII Legion. Or maybe Remliez just found a time machine, I dunno

All primarchs have a pyschic imprint that’s much stronger than a normal persons. Lorgar was able to meet demon prince Magnus before the burning of prospero. Two different versions of Magnus could exist at once, as could many more as we found out when Leman shattered him. My headcannon is that due to his pyschic nature, Konrads essence worked more similarly to Magnus’ where instead of dying when his body was killed, his soul was shattered. We are talking to the night haunter. Somewhere out in the warp is Konrad curze in different forms. Some evil, some less so. I don’t think an untainted Konrad exists in any timeline but at least one exists that isn’t quite as infernally edgy as I remember him from the lore.

This is probably the sort of coversation that Talos would have with Konrad regularly and why Night Lords liked Konrad despite him not liking them back very much. Everything about Konrad just feels genuine. In the way that Vulkan does feel genuine when he offers Rogal a hug. Konrad just got a really shitty lot in life and he's been upfront about it the whole way, not even trying to play nice because he knew from the start that the game is rigged.

But more serious I do feel really sorry for Konrad, he (along with Perturabo and Angron) has such a tragic backstory, and a feel the most for the ones who got so screwed! I want to give him a hug and said to him that he is loved and he is liked too, and prescience isn’t to be seen as an absolute, you CAN change the horrible things you see! My own head cannon had Curze sounding like Ledger's Joker with a defeated Monarch tone from The Venture Brothers; raspy, annoying to others voice, exasperated and jaded with existence and his legion of idiots, yet terrifying when inspired to make an example to prove his points. And occasional tittering, giggling/crying and mumbling to the self.
