I think most of Sanguinius is held prisoner on the Vengeful Spirit where he died. The Sanguinor is some psychic connection from that bound, imprisoned soul and his sons.

I totally get the Legion of the Damned being Imperial Daemons and The Sanguinor and Living Saints being Greater Imperial Daemons brought about by the power of and faith in The Emperor. I was wondering why super faithful groups like the Black Templars and Eccleisarchy don’t have them but then it hit me that The Emperor really didn’t want to be worshipped as a god, so they don’t get His favors as much.

So, a fun parallel that might run with the Angel theme of the Blood Angels and implicate some possibilities. The Angel Uriel, described as the last of the watchers that God allowed to live after he slaughtered them (aka, the nephalim), and sometimes implicated in that slaughter by esoterica, is described as being an angel who's forever seeking penitence by doing the work of god and remaining loyal when the others of his kind didn't. He's also depicted often with a sword and cup, and is called upon to bless said objects in ritual magic practices. Depending on whatever character you are suspecting to be the Sanguinor, if this is an influence for this plotline, it might open up all sorts of possibility beyond it being an experienced normal Astartes with potent relics and a lot of intel and potentially psyker potential. Or, even spicier, it could be just a normal yet experienced Astartes and and such but not be a psyker and instead makes use of ritual magic that draws on Sanguinious and The Emperor to appear when needed and to give warnings.

Personal Theory: Sanguinuis and the Sanguinary Guard that went up with him had psychic powers and being killed onboard the Vengeful Spirit, which was overflowing with Warp Energy, enhanced those powers to the point where they created the Sanguinor much like when the Gods of Chaos create a Daemon from a portion of their power

Sanguinius is the Vengeful Spirit. Even Horus when twisted by the four main Chaos gods knew that Sanguinius would not fall to Chaos. So this means Horus knew that out of all his Brothers, Sanguinius was the best of them.

What if the Sanguinor armor is like a Phoenix Lord's armor? It's found and worn by a worthy soul and their mind is overridden by Azkhellon or Sanguinius or whatever in the same way that the spirit stones in Asurmen's suit override whichever Aeldari puts it on? If we're seeing an upsurge in psychic potential throughout humanity, there's nothing to say that this isn't something that could develop and Blood Angels are psychically attuned, much more than other chapters.

It kinda shows that the false gods can't actually claim the soul of a Primarch if it doesn't want it. As for the shards on the Spirit i see them as more photographs of a soul than a full soul.

The Sanguinor is Azkallon infused with a shard of Sanguinius soul just like Ahriman and Magnus. His soul is in 3 fragments, Sanguinius in the warp, the Sanguinor and his fragment on the Vengeful Spirit. It makes sense and is how he speaks to his sons and knows what coming as his soul knows what happens on the Vengeful Spirit. Just my opinion but the peices fit.

Great video! But the thing that you mentioned about how Astartes are not functionally immortal was something that I had been wondering for a long time . But recently a audiobook that KZbinr Aboarderprince narrated had a character Express his sympathies to a modern-day space marine. Where he stated that while the original legions were immune to aging past a certain point, the 41st millennia version of them have corrupted genetics that does not make them immune like their predecessors. After the publication of Blood of Baal in the Psychic Awakening, it is mentioned that Dante had a conversation with the Sanguinius himself, saying that the Sanguinor is part of a duality of the primarch's soul. On one side was the Sanguinor, an entity that represented the nobility and sacrifice of the angelic primarch, radiated in a golden aura of hope and salvation. On the other hand, there was the entity that dwells in Mephiston, after the "rebirth" of Callistarius, which represents the anger and revenge of the angel in combat, especially against the enemies of his beloved genetic children. Not much is explained as to whether these two "manifestations" of Sanguinius are part of his soul or are just Warp-intentional reflections of the collective emotions of the Blood Angels. Do we take this into consideration when speculating on the nature, origin and destiny of the Sanguinor? (That or I misunderstood what I read a lot)

I though The Sanguinor was Sanguinius's herlad. When Sanguinius, Guilliman, and The Lion landed with their legions on Davin. At some point Sanguinius was in a fight with a demon. With half of his body sticking out of warp portal the demon threatened to close on him. The Herald tackled the demon off Sanguinius and pushed him out of the portal as it was closing. As it was closing Sanguinius saw some warp magic happened to his herald that created The Sanguinor we know of today.

My head Canon in summary is that Horus beat Sanguinius to the point the Black Rage kicked in. The chaos gods abandon the warmaster in favor of his now monstrous brother. This leads to him being brought to within death's doorstep by his brother only saved when thier father intervenes. The big E gets skull dragged as well by the angel, only barely saved when a remorseful Lupercal blast the angel demon with a psychic blast that uses his very soul as ammo. This spits Sanguinius's soul into 3 parts with one staying as a ghost, the Sanguinor, and the other going into the warp.

I think the Sanguinor is sort of like the Alpha Legion and the two lost primarchs. It's not that GW knows and just isn't telling. The Sanguinor just doesn't have a backstory. It is unwritten, and likely never will be. I doubt even the writers know or agree. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they put some conflicting information in the lore and novels. Whatever you decide when you bring him to the tabletop is as close as it'll ever be to being resolved. Because, as every experienced player knows, there's 40k and then there's YOUR 40k!

So that's why eldar who make soul stone live in crone world's close to warp. This ship made the crystal in its raw form making human soul stones. So pour the warp in a galler field then the soul will crystallize forming a shape similar to the body. So they use soul pieces or concentrated sykic energy to form the soul crystal similar method that they make wraith bone.

As for the agequestion ... there are some spacemarines that are 10k years by one way or another. Nothing says a spacemarine couldnt get rejuv treatments. Others like chaosmarines like Abadon, lucius, Eidolon etc. Were immortal due to mutations and warp. Fabius bile meanwhile survived on cloned flesh and eventualy cloned bodies he could send his spirit to due to eldar tech. Even a perpetual could be possible. Easyest could be a basic stasis field.
