Different cities= different pay. I live in Jacksonville, FL and the pay for these Door Dash and Instacart orders are lower. However, Door Dash will give you 35 seconds to accept an order and you can schedule Dashes in your area. Instacart is a first come/ first serve platform and you can not schedule any deliveries. Also, they’ll have you drive 15-20 mins out your way

I haven't had any good dash experiences, too long a trip for little pay, outside of the busy zone during peak. Plus the app needs too many extra button presses to tell it you've arrived at the pickup spot, ready to deliver, need to press 'directions' to get navigation going. Sigh, I've been focusing on Uber much simpler user experience, keeps me in the busy areas and seems to work better for me. Not sure how to multi app like you.

But you don't say what your expenses were. Fuel isn't free. Wear and tear on your vehicle is an issue. Parking is often paid for. At IRS rates of $0.56 per mile for car expenses you are making significantly less than you outline. Plus there's taxes to be paid on the money you made.
@arnoldmassey2747 Жыл бұрын
I use a lease so concern and get 34mpg in that civic
@SamplingPercussion Жыл бұрын
What’s your wear and tear and mileage per week for your 9 to 5 sit down job? That’s a 25% tax rate too. This is significantly less after you write off expenses. Plus the 56 cents a mile is a tax credit not an expense which ultimate brings your tax liability to significantly less. Do you even know what you’re talking about? No.
@SamplingPercussion Жыл бұрын
And when someone says they make $50k at their desk job do you tell them hey what are your expenses?? No they’re just telling you the gross amount they pull in. Everyone has taxes and expenses.

If you watch his other videos he says you should keep 20% of your earnings for taxes and cap repair. Even after that he's making a living.
@trainofthough0242 Жыл бұрын
@@SamplingPercussion Yes but taxes for a 1099 independent contractor are significantly more than if you were a W-2 employee for a company since the company withholds payroll taxes for you in your take home pay. That doesn't happen for a 1099 independent contractor. You pay your own taxes which takes a big chunk out of your gross income and makes your net income much less. When you work for a company, you also have benefits, 401k, health insurance, etc. You have to pay all that on your own when you're an independent contractor and that takes away from your gross. You definitely need to consider all this. This is why these videos don't tell you that and only show you the gross amount they made and act like it's so great. I want to see what they make after paying their taxes. I have yet to find a video that tells you that and there's a reason for that because they get nailed in quarterly taxes. I know because I'm also an independent contractor but in construction so I gross far more to make it worth my time to be independent. There's no way grossing only a grand a week as an independent contractor driving for these driving apps are you making good money because of taxes, wear and tear on your vehicle, higher insurance rates, but mainly taxes. Take whatever you're grossing and deduct at least 30% for taxes. I set aside 40% just to be safe myself. That $1000/week quickly just became $700/week which is barely over minimum wage. And that's just taxes, you still got insurance and wear and tear on your vehicle, gas. You can write off some of it but not all. That $700/week goes down to

Love the content, but the sound effects and earbuds …..not good. I’ve watched several of these, various creators, and can’t decipher what I can do to make it better for the driver. I think better that I make the order overnight for early next morning, that way driver can be first in line. I like that the tip can be done in stages, after delivery add on. Actually had to go around from the back door because the brute loaded bags to block the screen door. I’d like an ancillary driver. Need plant store. Know just what I want, cellphone me, I'll pick. You guyz need to devise some tools. Make a conveyor belt contraption to brace against steps, can’t leave it there or kids will play on it…move quick. Tools for the vehicle..…load bottled water to Fisher Price kiddie slide. Slide out.
