42,195 METERS: Marathon row / erg DONE! ✅

With the '23-'24 Concept 2 "season" soon coming to an end on April 30th, I was feeling a bit more spry than expected this day, so decided to wrap it up with a marathon... The other option was a 500m blast, but given short sprints are my weakness, I opted for the slightly longer option instead... The longest training row I'd done since "unretiring" was ~22k, so I didn't know exactly what to expect from the added distance aside from an extremely sore rear-end...

Awesome work! I did mine Dec 31 and was not anticipating how bad the hamstring/glute soreness and fatigue would be.

~48 hours afterwards and the muscles just outside either sit bone are still tender and making me flinch when I sit down 😬. I've no idea how folks are able to deal with the posterior discomfort of a 100k... (I remembering surviving the one 100k I ever did back in college without too much damage... ah, to be young again...)
