Maybe a good way to remember Este and ese is: Things that are closer appear to be bigger and things that are further away appear to be smaller. Este is a bigger word than ese so it's closer. Ese is further away and is a smaller word.

Muchas gracias por ESE video. Gracias a ese video, ya entiendo la diferencia entre el uso de los prenombres con la tilde y los que no la usan. Me confundida mucho porque se usa la tilde en algunas circunstancia y otras no. Actualmente, estoy leyendo un libro, “La casa de los espíritus” de Isabel Allende, que usa “ése” de vez en cuando. Y, me recuerdo que si se usa la tilde, el prenombre es seguido con un verbo. Genial. Me encantan vuestros videos y podcasts. Gracias otra vez.

Thank you for this. I use "¿Qué es esto?" a lot while teaching beginning spanish to my students and I always worried whether that was correct or not, especially since "cosa" is feminine, so I could see it just as easily being "¿Qué es esa (cosa)?"

You'd have to say: ¿Qué es eso? ¿Qué es esa cosa? "¿Qué es ésa?" doesn't sound correct.

Me encanta el español pero si pudiera añadir una palabra inglésa al idioma, seria _'toe,'_ porque ¿qué estan pensando los españoles con 'el dedo de pie?' Having said that, there are lots of Spanish words that I'd add to english. _¡vamonos!_ being one of them. I just love that word. Sounds like "lets bounce" or something, which has the same meaning in English but is kind of slangy, and not used very often.

Esto, Eso, Aquello (neutral singular) Estos, Esos, Aquellos (masculine plural ) :) Podría ser el plural netro también, sería igual. Cx

Claro. Ésta (vaca, persona, oveja, perra, pera, manzana...) está mala. Aquí sustituye a un nombre, que se entiende por el contexto o porque ha sido previamente mencionado.

Está mal = It's not right, not done well. Está mala = it's off, spolit/she's ill.
