That's my grandma, Mary Red Head, sitting in the stand with her husband Louis Old Rock. I sure do miss her. R.I.P. grandma ❤

We were country people also ☝🏽 Although my people wore Cowboy hats we were there to dance and carry on our heritage. There is nothing shameful about them, that also applies to their attire. They’re more culturally active and aware than we could ever be. They’re more connected than us, and for you to bring something up that minor and irrelevant is “shameful.” Appreciate the beauty of these people rather than dwell on something so childish. Listen to the announcer taking about carrying on our way of life, the way of my/our ancestors. We were there to bring life, so please don’t discriminate.

Many things were adopted, from glass beads to tobacco tin lids- adopting and repurpose is a sign of a vivid culture- alive and cared about!
