that thing looks like you'd carry bowls of ramen in it also, regarding the loose cartridges, it looks like it would probably fit better if you just inserted them sideways instead

They still rattle around. The foam cartridge wells allow a lot of jiggling.

Pretty big case considering it doesn't fit much more than the soft shell case. Also, can you give an ID on the toy kangaroo? I love it.

I found it at a garage sale. It reminded me of the arcade game Kangaroo, so I bought it. I think I got the Pac-Man windup at the same sale. I do not know the manufacturer. Maybe I can google lens it later.

That is a repurposed cassette tape holder.
