The days are getting shorter and the sun barely comes over the mountain, so I need to build up the extra solar panels to have power. I'm taking a walk to the steep side of the mountain.

Please please please wear eye protection when you are chipping the stones. Even if it's just one blow, those chips are razor sharp and you're eyes are precious. Hello Martijn. Your walk in the woods to find Johanne's "trail" was so nice. I love everything about Autumn from the crisp air to the crisp leaves crunching under foot. So enjoy taking all your walks with you. You are doing a great job getting things done before the snow starts to fall where you are. I thoroughly enjoyed the last episode with you guys all working together on your roof and the comradery between each of you. I wish I knew all the languages so I would know what I was laughing at. 😂 You amazed me this week! Manhandling those huge stones by yourself. At 21:47 and 21:52 I gasp; you've got to protect the body. 😳 Your solar system looks great! Very sharp and tidy...I've come to expect this from you, yet each time I smile and enjoy the art of your ways, taking into consideration the views when you design your power source. What uniqeness! I loved hearing the birds sing in the woods around you as you worked and had your coffee breaks. Do you think you will be able to feed them this winter? Maybe build a couple of platform feeders and offer them some water? You would have an abundance of birds visit your place. You brought us to the arrival of winter there and what a beautiful scene it is. You added several nice views this week, capturing the change in seasons. P.S. I don't know what your 'pancake' dish was, but it looked yummy! Take care of yourself. Enjoy your change of seasons. See you next week. 💚 from Texas

To make cooking in your outdoor kitchen in the winter weather more bearable I'd highly recommend adding a series of soft material walls to your kitchen setup. You could use sheets of canvas or another tenting material. Certainly would make cooking on cold and windy days nicer. On days that are the opposite of cold and windy you would be able to roll the walls up too!

Wow, Martijn, this last shot! You've outdone yourself with this episode, seriously. I'm in Ticino for a week and the seasons really changed the last couple of days. I arrived at 24 degrees with sun but the day after the heavy rain and snow in the mountains it was minus 2 degrees up there and 15 down by Lago Maggiore. Nature is absolutely breathtaking right now. Been up to Cardada peak yesterday for sunset, clear views in your direction and I was even able to see the Matterhorn far far in the distance. It's so calm in the woods, just walking and breathing the fresh air, the sound of every step on the leafs. Never been an autm person but here it's something quite different. Can't wait to see the finished roof! Seems like a big time Tetris you're playing there! Thanks for everything you're sharing, you're a true inspiration. Heb en fijne dag :-)

Your videos are always superb Martijn, and such a pleasure to watch the progress on building your life there on the mountainside in Italy. Such peace watching the views of the landscapes, how they change moment to moment and season to season. I began watching you when you first got your land and moved onto it. It’s been an amazing journey watching the world come to your doorstep and help you build your dreams. Truly a pleasure. Take care! Blue.

I'm sorry, I tried so hard to help you roll those stones up to the roof but it didn't reach you. But then again, I'm watching the video months after you did this. Funny how into this you can get on this side of the keyboard. Nice to see a man doing good things in this crazy world we live in right now. Bless you.

My husband and I enjoyed the whole video (endless hard work, yikes!) and most especially the stars and shooting stars at the end.... I hope before we die that we can go to see a place with a night sky like that. 😊

Since moving into mountains, 21 yrs. ago, I have a much deeper appreciation for the changing skies. Perhaps because unless you purposely look up, the mountains are in your face most of the time. Beautiful views Martijn. Keep cozy!
